Opportunistic Army scores bowl win over SMU, 16-14
Posted on 2 Jan 2011 by Donald Lappe.
Coming into the game against SMU, Army's struggles in pass coverage were well-documented. The Mustangs burned the Black Knights for 45 yards on the first play from scrimmage when Kyle Padron found Aldrick Robinson downfield. Here we go again, right? We saw this against Air Force, Notre Dame, and Navy in recent weeks. Then, after a 6 yard completion by Padron, the complexion of the game changed...

A&M ends UT’s season
Posted on 29 Nov 2010 by Jon Lopez.
UT's season is finally over. It's probably a good thing that they're not going to a bowl game because, 1. It would be a crappy bowl game, like the car care bowl or something. 2. UT would probably lose. At least Gilbert did show some good things against A&M. He was able to move the ball late but had a pass tipped and picked off. I think if Mack Brown sticks to wht he said and really take a l...

Hang Those Huskies!: UCONN vs. Syracuse Preview
Posted on 17 Nov 2010 by Beth Ann Clyde.
Bowl bound at last! Saturday’s win against Rutgers ensured Syracuse would play in a bowl game for the first time since 2004. Doug Marrone must keep his troops focused, though, because now it is time to get a little greedy. The Orange can get the Big East’s BCS bid if Pittsburgh loses its next two games against West Virginia and South Florida. It has been a crazy year in the Big East, so any...

Al Golden wants to establish a program. The last thing he wants to be is a one hit wonder. To paraphrase, he stated that many of the bowl teams, whether it's the MAC, WAC or Sun Belt may win a bowl game, but not establish the program. On to last night, the first play of the game summarized the entire game. Bernard Pierce busted a long 67-yard run down the left sideline, but came up...
