Marco Sturm was placed on waivers yesterday. Generally this means a team is trying to move a guy to the minors or simply take a chance that someone might want to snag him and free up their roster. The two names I've heard popping up the most recently that are linked to the Kings are Mike Fisher of the Ottawa Senators and Dustin Penner of the Edmonton Oilers. I have no idea if there is any truth behind the Kings's alleged interest in these guys, but I can analyze the possibility of a potential trade for these guys. (more…)

The Kings had a 4 game win streak snapped last night in Phoenix as the Pacific Division continues to be the toughest in the league this season. Just 7 points divide 1st place Dallas and last place Phoenix. These numbers are even tighter when you consider the difference in games played by each team. Any way you shake it, the Pacific Division remains the tightest in the NHL. (more…)
