Devils Win; Prospect Shines for Canada
Posted on 29 Dec 2011 by Jordan DiRisio.
The Devils beat the Sabres with relative ease last night to get back on the winning track. After dropping 2 of 3 the Devils won against Buffalo 3-1 and if not for the strong play of Ryan Miller New Jersey could have scored 5 goals. Brodeur and the defensive was particularly impressive in their own zone and did a great job of minimizing quality scoring chances for the sabres. The Devils got 2 go...

Thrashers to Winnipeg, Effect on Kings?
Posted on 31 May 2011 by Eric Cooney.
So it was made official this morning that the Atlanta Thrashers have been sold and are moving north to Winnipeg. The organization will have its hands full over the next season and beyond as they attempt to prove that a small Canadian market is better than the large Atlanta market. The way things were going in Atlanta, I have no doubt that Winnipeg will have more enthusiasm for the club than...

THE DEAL IS REAL: STARS TRADE NEAL
Posted on 21 Feb 2011 by Travis Currie.
As mentioned in my previous entry, James Neal and Matt Niskanen were involved in trade talks. And now they're officially on their way out of town. Joe Nieuwendyk pulled the trigger today and sent the two to Pittsburgh for defenseman Alex Goligoski. The business side of things aside, the Stars dealt a young power forward with the potential to be a 35-40 goal scorer. He's helped form a dynamic ...

That One Hurts
Posted on 8 Jan 2011 by Shane Hoopfer.
There is no easy way to say so I'll be blunt. That one was on Miikka. Whether you consider it to be two or three bad goals. Miikka Kiprusoff costed the Calgary Flames a point tonight. The Calgary Flames dominated the game against the Detroit Red Wings and even gave their goaltender four goals to work with and once again find a way to lose. This time in a shootout 5-4 to the Wings. Curtis Glencr...

Wings Trounce Blues, 7-3
Posted on 17 Nov 2010 by Jeremy Klumpp.
If hockey games lasted 52 minutes, the St. Louis Blues would have been heading to overtime with the Detroit Red Wings after a hard-fought, scrappy game. Unfortunately for them, they last 60 minutes. Danny Cleary broke a 3-3 tie, knocking a pass from Mike Modano past Blues goalie Jaroslav Halak, with 7:34 left in the third period. The Wings scored three more times in 3:14, with goals from Henrik...

Detroit Red Wings 2010-2011 Season Preview/Outlook
Posted on 15 Aug 2010 by Mark Bates.
Hi Everyone Today I am going to give you my take on how this Season will unfold. On Paper: This team looks good. Mike Modano being the biggest sign(so far) this off season for the Wings will add another high end scorer to the line. Modano will make a good addition and most likely play on the 3rd line or second as a best case and should also get time on the power play. The key this year wi...

Coyotes First Round Preview
Posted on 13 Apr 2010 by Matt Shott.
The Phoenix Coyotes season has finally come to a close and now the team sits back and waits for the draft come. Wait a tick, the Phoenix Coyotes are actually being granted into the very selective post season gathering? Well that's a howl of a different color!! (You see what I did there with ‘howl' replacing ‘horse'?) I could start here with all the hoopla of the Yotes off-season...

They Clinched!
Posted on 5 Apr 2010 by Mark Bates.
Hi Everyone So half of my prediction did not come true, Detroit cannot clinch the division, but we did clinch a playoff spot! hooray! It was tough at some points but like always they come through, granted no one would think they could of clinched losing 2 very close games to Nashville and Philadelphia respectively. Thomas Holmstrom was in on all the goals with 3 assists but Nashville would ...
