Mavs in Good Position After Game 5, Look to End Series in Game 6
Posted on 12 Jun 2011 by Andy R Strom.
Don’t call it a comeback in game 5. Call it routine, call it a playback, whatever you want to call it in the end we call it a win. The Mavs came from behind closing another game out strong for the W. The Mavs and Heat entered game 5 tied at 2 games a piece, making game 5 a huge game. The Mavs would be without the services of Brenden Haywood again as he is still bothered by a hip flexor issue....

Mavs Shine as Thunder Fade
Posted on 24 May 2011 by Andy R Strom.
Game 4 of the Western Conference Finals was one with a lot of excitement late…or early…depending on who you were rooting for. The Mavs pretty much looked to be showing their age early in the game, but always managed to keep it just close enough. My father, who lives back in my hometown in Texas is an avid sports fan and will call me often when our teams play. He’s a bit of a worrier and m...

Angels lose, and lose again
Posted on 14 May 2011 by Bill Mahoney.
I have been an Angels fans since 1976, and I would say every year there are a handful of players that frustrate me to no end. This year is no exception. I will say the Angels have rid themselves of couple of guys who were the bane of my existence: Brandon Wood & Jason Bulger. Jeff Mathis used to frustrate me, but I have learned to love his catching. His lack of hitting drives me nuts, but m...

Daniel Murphy Is Clutch

You ever the get the feeling when you're watching a Mets game that the batter will hit a home run on the next pitch? Well, I can't say this is completely true about last night, but I was pretty close. After the debacle of a call by Marvin Hudson that erased Jose Reyes' one-out triple, the Mets could have easily folded, just like they've been accustomed to doing over the last few years. That's...

CBC & Officiating Lack Credibility and Integrity in Epic Game 7
Posted on 27 Apr 2011 by Kirk Butler.
To begin I just wanted to congratulate Craig Simpson, Jim Houston and the rest of the Canucks organization for winning the Stanley Cup… Oh Wait… that was only the 1st round? Are you sure? The post game celebration seemed to suggested otherwise! It is a game I will never forget; however for all the wrong reasons. As a Canadian not residing in the province of BC it was a frustra...

This is what we, fans of the Grizz, call crunch time
Posted on 24 Mar 2011 by LT Murray.
Grizz Nation are you ready? I said are you ready? Memphis picked up an important victory on the road against a championship contender further proving they are up to the challenge of knocking off one of the top seeds in the playoffs. I was worried about my boys as they had a ridiculously tough 3 game stretch at Boston, at Chicago, and then back home for the Spurs. I felt if they won 1 of those ...

Oilers, or OK City Barons?
Posted on 17 Mar 2011 by Scott Pattison.
A message for Oiler fans holding on to tickets valued at $150-$250 bucks for tonight's Phoenix/Edmonton tilt – forget about selling them on Kijiji! Decimated with injuries, fans sitting in the “Club Seats” tonight will actually be watching a lineup jam-packed with AHL players from Oklahoma City. Frankly, for the amount of money some of these fans paid for these NHL tickets, th...

Rangers 2 – Sabres 3
Posted on 2 Mar 2011 by Adam Gavriel.
And that’s what last’s nights game comes down to. A huge hit in the Rangers playoff aspirations with the Canes just one point behind with a game in hand, and the Sabres three points behind with three games in hand to make up those three points. It certainly doesn’t help that the Sabres and Hurricanes play each other tomorrow night, and you just KNOW that game is going to overtime. Bu...

Jordan Participates In Charlotte Bobcats Practice
Posted on 10 Feb 2011 by John Boller.
Don’t call it a comeback, Michael Jordan is practicing with the team he owns. The six-time NBA champion, Hall of Famer and Charlotte Bobcats owner put on a different pair of work shoes at the Bobcats Thursday workout. The Bobcats, who were short on players for practice, found a pretty decent substitute when Jordan laced up his sneaks and put on an orange jersey. For the resurgent Bobcats, hav...

THE WINDY CITY WEEKLY: BEARS LOSS PAINFUL; CUTLER CONTROVERSY JUST PLAIN STUPID
Posted on 26 Jan 2011 by Kevin Scholla.
Oh so close. One win away from the Super Bowl. The Bears almost pulled it off, after many ‘experts' picked them to finish well under .500. But in the end it's Green Bay moving on and the Bears left with a bitter hibernation ahead. Before we get into the game itself, I have to address all of this Jay Cutler garbage. That's what it is. Pure trash. The man was injured during th...

Facts and Feelings on Hanzal’s High-Stick Goal
Posted on 21 Jan 2011 by Eric Cooney.
There's a lot going around concerning Hanzal's controversial game-winning, momentum swinging, mind-boggling, high-stick goal. The general consensus is that it was a bad call by both the referee on the ice and the war room in Toronto. I just want to share some things on the call, making sure I separate my feelings from the facts themselves. (more…)
