The Adventures of Steve Letarte
Posted on 16 Jun 2011 by Joseph Hopkins.
As I write this, this weekend's race will be the three-year anniversary of the last Dale Earnhardt Jr victory. I've got to admit, I've been impressed by the #88 team this year. I put Junior way back in 18th in my Top 20 NASCAR Drivers of 2011 article (which you can find to the right). They're legitimately good this year. A lot of the credit has rightfully gone to Steve Letarte. I'm a Jeff ...

It’s Time For Baseball To Take A Stand Against Alcohol
Posted on 12 Jun 2011 by Michael Waterloo.
On June 8th, Arizona Diamondbacks announcer and former Chicago Cubs great Mark Grace became the latest member of the baseball community to be arrested and charged with DUI. Over the past year, this has become an all too familiar situation for the league. This year alone, Miguel Cabrera, Derek Lowe, Coco Crisp, Shin-Soo Choo, Austin Kearns and Adam Kennedy have been arrested for driving unde...

EA Sports Was Garbage
Posted on 25 Mar 2011 by Joseph Hopkins.
I'm not really into gaming, but I have been suckered by EA Sports in my lifetime. I might be alone in saying this, but I can't stand their games. I've only owned three of EA's NASCAR titles: NASCAR 2005, 2007, and 2009. I actually just bought 2009 a week ago for $5. Because '09 is the most recent, I'll talk about that one. Complaints: -Every time there's a caution, nobody pits unless they're...

THE VIKINGS TRADING FOR KEVIN KOLB WOULD BE A MISTAKE
Posted on 22 Mar 2011 by Sean Eckhardt.
Andy Reid would be an excellent car salesman. The Philadelphia Eagles Head Coach has been building up the value of his backup quarterback to potential buyers during discussions with the media this week. There are reports that the Eagles have already received an offer that contains a first round draft pick as part of the deal. Reid came out and said that the team knows that they h...

Gordon of Old Returns to Victory Lane… Rush to Return to Track
Posted on 28 Feb 2011 by Chris Demon.
Kyle Busch dominated the Truck and Nationwide races, and looked like he was getting the broom out for the weekend sweep. Enter Jeff Gordon. Gordon, who led the most laps of the day, looked like he was going to settle for second with 20 to go. After all, Kyle was unstoppable this weekend. Gordon chipped away at the lead and with 8 to go, he made the pass in Busch's strongest point of the track. ...

Packers’ Fan Fit to be Tied
Posted on 26 Jan 2011 by Steven Keys.
Ever try to separate a dog from it’s bone? Risky business. She can be the friendliest pooch on the block: wagin’ her tail and playin’ catch with a squeaky toy. But try taking away her chew-bone and you’ll be missing a few fingers. It’s instinctive. That goes double for sport fans. Mess with our team spirit and you’re askin’ for trouble. Car salesman John Stone wore a Packers...

Marketing Tips for trading Andrei Kostitsyn
Posted on 14 Jan 2011 by Corey Krakower.
This flu bug is killing the Habs. It renders players useless, it frustrates the coaches, and you never know who it is going to negatively affect next. Of course, by flu bug, I mean Andrei Kostitsyn. Those who read this blog often or even follow me on twitter know that I have been a big proponent of trading AK46. In fact, earlier in the year when Kostitsyn got off to a great start; there were so...

Iowa Hawkeye RB Adam Robinson Arrested
Posted on 28 Dec 2010 by Debbie Baratz.
While Iowa football coach Kirk Ferentz never said why top running back Adam Robinson was suspended for the Insight Bowl, he insinuated it could have been academic problems. Now, you have to wonder if there was more to the story or Robinson had dodged a bullet. Late Monday evening, Robinson was arrested by the Iowa State Patrol for the citation of marijuana in Des Moines, Iowa. According to a...

A&M ends UT’s season
Posted on 29 Nov 2010 by Jon Lopez.
UT's season is finally over. It's probably a good thing that they're not going to a bowl game because, 1. It would be a crappy bowl game, like the car care bowl or something. 2. UT would probably lose. At least Gilbert did show some good things against A&M. He was able to move the ball late but had a pass tipped and picked off. I think if Mack Brown sticks to wht he said and really take a l...

All They Wanted Was A Car…Bengals’ Schedule 4th Toughest
Posted on 22 Apr 2010 by Daryl Miller.
When looking at the way life works it doesn’t take too much effort to stir memories of adolescence. One rite of passage for a youth involves learning to drive. The process was one that held so much anticipation but it also came with a long list of “extras” that were either unanticipated or quite simply never considered. We waited in line to have the written test graded. There it began...
