CHALMERS AND THE HEAT TORCH INDIANA
Posted on 11 Mar 2013 by Sean Eckhardt.
Normally, if Mario Chalmers is your best player you are going to lose. And normally if LeBron James is on your team and he is your 4th leading scorer, you are going to lose. Well, both of these things happened on Sunday night as the Heat took on the Pacers, yet Miami beat down Indiana, 105-91, and extended their NBA season-long winning streak to 18 games. Many media members around the le...

Best Story: Blackhawks or Heat?
Posted on 7 Mar 2013 by Steven Keys.
This was gonna’ be a piece all about the amazing Chicago Blackhawks’ and their stupendous start to abbreviated NHL ‘12-13, but then hoopsters Miami decided to turn-up the Heat on the rest of the NBA and remind everyone who’s boss. Tough call. Every time I get the scores on these two clubs I’m muttering to myself words like “Really,” “Wow” or “Is that right?” It’s real an...

HEAT GO UGLY FOR 13TH IN A ROW
Posted on 2 Mar 2013 by Sean Eckhardt.
The Miami Heat came in to tonight's game with Memphis riding a season-long twelve game winning streak. The longest streak since the Bosh-James-Wade merger back in 2010, and the second longest in franchised history. During this run Chris Bosh was good, Dwyane Wade was great, and LeBron has been otherworldly, so the Heat have been unstoppable. Not the case tonight. Wade led the way with 2...

Center of Attention No More
Posted on 25 Oct 2012 by Warren Shaw.
With the presidential campaign season in full swing and the public thinking about their vote, the NBA decided to amend their own voting procedures in reference to the All-Star game. Without any sort of debate either. On Tuesday night, David Aldridge of NBA.COM announced the league’s decision to delete the center position from the All-Star ballot effective immediately. Instead fans will have t...

Undeniable Heat: Southeast Division Preview
Posted on 23 Oct 2012 by Warren Shaw.
With little in the category of drama, the Southeast Division is an open and shut case regarding the first place winner. The Miami Heat are the defending champions which would give them the edge anyway but they have watched two division foes become significantly weaker in Atlanta and Orlando. With Joe Johnson (formerly of the Hawks) and Dwight Howard (formerly of the Magic) out of the division, ...

Lakers / Heat Stoke NBA ’12-13
Posted on 16 Oct 2012 by Steven Keys.
Consider this the year of LeBron. Not because he and his Heat team are a lock to repeat as champs in 2013. Au contraire, the new & improved Lakers will have a thing or two to say about who dons that crown come next June. Rather, it’s because this’ll be the first time in his 10-year NBA tenure that Mr. James can actually enjoy himself on a basketball court. Having garnered that elusive c...

HEAT BUST IT WIDE OPEN
Posted on 22 Jun 2012 by Sean Eckhardt.
So much for not having any depth. The Miami Heat waited until the final game of the season to turn in their best overall performance as a team. They had six players score in double figures and four players dropped at least 20 points on the Thunder. Oh yeah, and LeBron James went out and got a triple-double as Miami ran away from OKC 121-106, to secure their second NBA Title. The obvious s...

Full of Surprises…Celtics take Game 5 over the Heat 94-90
Posted on 6 Jun 2012 by Warren Shaw.
Remember when everybody and I mean everybody said the Boston Celtics could not defeat the Miami Heat? I remember it vividly because I was one of the many who uttered the same sentiments. There is still a very real possibility that Miami bounces back to take the series. But after Boston's Game 5 win over the Miami Heat 94-90 in one of the guttiest performances in the “Big 4″ era, ...

Evening the Odds…Celtics take Game 4 in OT 93-91 to tie the series
Posted on 4 Jun 2012 by Warren Shaw.
The Eastern Conference Finals have been a mockery in officiating for both teams and an exercise in raising the blood pressure of all interested parties. This heart attack inducing series is now tied 2-2 after the Celtics held off (and came back against) the Heat 93-91 in overtime. Dwyane Wade (20 points, 7 rebounds, and 6 assists) missed what would have been the game winning 3 pointer when Marq...

SORRY NEW YORK, YOU’RE JUST NOT GOOD ENOUGH
Posted on 3 May 2012 by Sean Eckhardt.
Wait until next year. That is a slogan that Chicago Cubs fans have had to live by for over 100 years. Knicks fans will be singing those words this year. The Miami Heat rolled in to Madison Square Garden, played their worst half of basketball of the season in Thursday's 1st half, and beat down New York anyway, 87-70. Chris Bosh almost missed the game due to the birth of his baby, LeBron ...

AGE OVER BEAUTY
Posted on 11 Apr 2012 by Sean Eckhardt.
Go ahead Miami fans, continue to believe that the Heat will just be able to turn it on once the NBA Playoffs begin. After losing to the Celtics 115-107 Tuesday night in South Florida, it is very apparent that this team is now struggling both on the road, and at home, where until recently they had been unbeatable. The Heat's difficulties away from South Beach have been well documented, and t...
