LOCKOUT NO MORE
Posted on 25 Jul 2011 by Christopher Rowe.
The NFL lockout is over! After 132 days football is back in business. Players can go to facilities and talk with coaches, draft picks can be signed and there is a new CBA in place. Really all that was missed was a few minicamps, postdraft spin and the leisurely pace of free agency so now we get it all at one time! NFLPA announced that Commissioner Roger Goodell will be at the NFLPA headquarters...

Dwight Howard made a bold statement this week while in Italy fulfilling requirements of his contract with Adidas at their Eurocamp. The Magic's franchise player stated that he will NOT sign a contract extension this season and he WILL test the free agent market next summer. Circle the wagons, ring the alarm, stop start the press! Howard graciously took the time to discuss his future with Scott ...

Duffy call-up continues Royals youth movement
Posted on 18 May 2011 by Ryan Riordan.
First it was Aaron Crow making the Royals as a reliever out of spring training. Then, two weeks ago, Kansas City's top hitting prospect Eric Hosmer was called up to the major leagues. And today, the Royals called up the first of their prized starting pitching prospects, as Danny Duffy will make his first major league start tonight against the Texas Rangers. Duffy is being called up due to injur...

Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow…

Who is to blame? Is the NFL to blame for the current predicament that football fans face? Blame the players. Blame the owners. Blame the NFL Blame the TV networks. Blame the fans for watching the games or the fans for still purchasing their season ticket packages. Blame anyone you like because there is no wrong answer. We blame everyone, since grown men of goodwill, common sense and reasonable ...

Patriots Headlines
Posted on 4 Mar 2011 by David Reid.
Not a whole lot has happened over the past week and we are still a little ways away to start talking about the draft. So I have got a little news about the CBA and of course some about the Patriots. Biggest news in the NFL is still the Collective Bargaining Agreement and whether or not the players and owners are going to come to a new agreement. As of today the only thing that has been agreed u...

NFL Lockout: What’s Really Going On
Posted on 3 Mar 2011 by Michael Waterloo.
The rumors have been swirling for a long time now and they are officially becoming a reality. On Friday evening, thanks to a last minute 24-hour extension, the NFL will in all likelihood be in a lockout as the current league collective bargaining agreement will come to an end. For the past year or so, we have heard that this would be a possibility, but did any of us actually think that it...

Kolb: Destination Anywhere, NFL?
Posted on 14 Feb 2011 by Christopher Rowe.
The NFL's Collective Bargaining Agreement will make this offseason either very tumultuous or very boring. Should there be no negotiation, prolonged posturing and no resolution we're all in for a long hibernation period where we learn to like Arena Football (Go Philadelphia Soul). Tumultuous would be the case if an agreement is reached say sometime around the March 3 deadline or thereabouts....

Nnamdi Asomugha Eagles Lynchpin
Posted on 14 Jan 2011 by Christopher Rowe.
The incentives that voided the contract of former Raiders Pro Bowl cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha make complete sense. Crazy old man Al Davis has been vilified for being so incompetent as to not realize there was language in Asomugha's contract that could set him free after two years. Are we really naïve enough to think that the parties who wrote the contract didn't understand it? Even if Lionel H...

Decisions, Decisions…2011 Outlook, 2010 Draft Re-Eval
Posted on 12 Jan 2011 by Christopher Rowe.
Sixteen Eagles are scheduled to become free agents at the end of the league year in March. Here is a list of the players. Note that until there is a new Collective Bargaining Agreement there is no designation as to what type of free agents they will be. It appears as though Eagles priorities this offseason will be Offensive line, Cornerbacks, Defensive Ends and Linebackers. Depending on free ag...

Flop Eagles Flop
Posted on 10 Jan 2011 by Christopher Rowe.
A month ago the talk was rampant throughout Philadelphia that the Eagles were headed to the Super Bowl. A month ago Michael Vick was doing the impossible, confounding defenses and performing miraculous comebacks. A month ago a shaky, unstable defense seemed to be able to find a way to make the big play at the right time. A month ago the “weak” NFC was wide open and the Eagles had ...

Zach Randolph Won’t Be A Piston Anytime Soon
Posted on 24 Nov 2010 by Bob Ballard.
As the Pistons roll into Memphis tonight to play the Grizzlies, there will be some buzz about Grizzlies PF Zach Randolph possibly being traded to the Pistons. Earlier this month, it was reported by SI.com that Randolph wants to leave Memphis since they refused to discuss extending his contract. It was stated that his preferred destination would be Detroit - Randolph played at Michigan...

QUARTERBACK WATUSI FOR 2011
Posted on 11 Nov 2010 by Christopher Rowe.
Collective bargaining agreements, expanded schedules, concussion reform, salary cap issues are all being debated as there is the possibility of having no NFL in 2011. While Commissioner “Mr. Rogers” Goddell and league owners deliberate over most of these issues, we fans are still paying attention to what happens on the field. As the QB goes, so goes the NFL… but this could be a po...
