Four Man Rotation Going Foward for Rockies
Posted on 29 Jun 2012 by Steve Folsom.
The Rockies are trying everything to make their pitching staff better. Last week the team decided to go with a four man rotation, as opposed to the traditional five. They would limit the starters to roughly 75 pitches and then give it to the bullpen. Part of the reason for this is because the starters can't get past the 5th inning anyway, so might as well do it on purpose, right? I'm not so...

Posted on 21 Nov 2010 by 90Soccer.com.
By Rees Linn FC Dallas landed in Toronto to begin preparations for Sunday’s 2010 MLS Cup Final. The team seems to be soaring after their 3-0 throttling of LA last week en route to earning their first ever Western conference crown, and today the team also learned of the official announcement that David Ferreira was named the 2010 MLS MVP. It’s a team that seems to have won over nearly ever...

Nebraska edged by Texas A&M, waits to clinch division
Posted on 21 Nov 2010 by Darshan Patel.
No. 9 Nebraska will have to wait another week to clinch the Big 12 North losing 9-6 to Texas A&M. It ended its hopes (if it had any coming into this week) of a national championship. In that case, this loss really did not hurt the Cornhuskers chances of the Fiesta Bowl. They still control their own destiny. However, who saw this outcome coming at them? I surly did not. I thought this would ...

The Colorado Buffalos (4-6, 1-4) will host the Kansas State Wildcats (6-4, 3-4) in the last home game of the 2010 season at Folsom Field on Saturday. It will also mark the last time the Buffs host a Big 12 game before moving on to the Pac 12 next year and it is interim head coach Brian Cabral’s second game at the helm. The Buffs hope to take one step closer to respectability and a possible bo...

Nebraska one win away from Big 12 North title
Posted on 14 Nov 2010 by Darshan Patel.
Taylor Martinez was not his best out there Saturday night, but he was healthy. Martinez returned to the field with his healthy ankle as he managed the No. 9 Cornhuskers to a 20-3 win over the Jayhawks. The freshman quarterback did not have to do anything spectacular as his running backs carried the load. Rex Burkhead and Roy Helu Jr. had a combined 162 yards for two touchdowns. It seems like Bu...

The Blue Jackets will play two games on the road and two games at home in the upcoming week. They will look to continue their undefeated streak on the road as they hold a 3-0 record. All three of their losses have come at home as they have struggled defensively, however, they have won their last two games at the Nationwide Arena. Saturday, Oct 30 – Columbus vs. Colorado Tuesday, ...

2010 Big 12 Predictions
Posted on 24 Aug 2010 by Adrian Fedkiw.
The Big 12 is an interesting conference heading into the season. 3 players from the 3 best teams within the conference are gone; Colt McCoy of Texas, Sam Bradford of Oklahoma and Ndamukong Suh of Nebraska. With that being said, will one of these 3 hold the Big 12 crown at season's end, or will a Texas A+M, Missouri or Texas Tech emerge. The Big 12 South has claimed the Big 12 title every...

One Liners! Part Deux!

Since it was so much fun the first time, lets do it again! For those new to the concept try to write a one line blurb on each game ideally fewer than 10 words long. Detroit 3 Phoenix 0 Yes that was a high stick. Howard bounced back well! Pittsburgh 7 Ottawa 4 The castle lights are growing dim. btw Crosby is good. Philadelphia 4 New Jersey 1 Brodeur and Boucher have swapped equipment! Nashville ...

Credit Where Credits Due
Posted on 18 Apr 2010 by Bill Furey.
As much as I wish the N0-Hitter was in favor of the Braves I have to give credit where credit is due. Ubaldo Jimenez tossed the first No-Hitter in Colorado Rockies history last night at Turner field in Atlanta. Jimenez went the distance walking 6, and striking out 7 in his No-Hit masterpiece. The great thing about baseball is that it doesn't matter if you are home, or away the crowd respects th...

Wow Miikka Wow!
Posted on 3 Apr 2010 by Shane Hoopfer.
I think the title says it all. Miikka Kiprusoff was outstanding last night in propelling the Calgary Flames into a tie for the eighth and final playoff spot in the Western Conference after a 2-1 victory over the Colorado Avalanche. This blog will be a touch shorter after my child tried to electrocute me last night! Nothing like a few million volts running through you to get your attention. At ...

Avalanche Problem? Call Toskala!
Posted on 18 Mar 2010 by Shane Hoopfer.
The Calgary Flames marched into Denver to take on the Colorado Avalanche in what was easily classified as a must win game for the Flames. In the previous four games between these two the Avalanche had won all four games by a score of 3-2. The Flames probably deserved to win three of those but Craig Anderson was stellar as he has been most of this season, so the task was daunting. Rene Bourque c...

Canes Look for Solid Ground in Colorado
Posted on 23 Oct 2009 by Chris Cote.
Eight games into the season, the Carolina Hurricanes are still trying to get it going having now lost four games in a row. The Canes now face a surprisingly strong foe in the Colorado Avalanche, a team most predicted would be among the bottom teams in the league, who are currently situated at #1 in the Western Conference. Things To Look For: 1) Cam Ward needs to rebound after a mediocre night ...
