Anthony anything but Melo in OT defeat of Orlando
Posted on 29 Mar 2011 by Warren Shaw.
The New York Knicks were losers of 6 straight and searching for answers to their horrific 1-9 record over the last 10 games coming into tonight's match up with the Magic. Orlando came in winners of 5 straight and riding a new wave of consistency that had the team playing its best basketball of the season. Without Jameer Nelson (knee), Stan Van Gundy was forced to insert “The cooler̶...

Lakeshow Rounding Into Shape

The Los Angeles Lakers defeat the Dallas Mavericks 96-91 Saturday night to end their four-game road trip 3-1. The Lakers are regaining form, and clearly are treating the second half of the season like their playoff tune-up. The Mamba and Co. went into American Airlines Center and still reminded the Mavericks that they are the team to beat, without even putting their best foot forward. The Mamba...

A recurring nightmare
Posted on 10 Feb 2011 by Warren Shaw.
The subplots run deep in this Lakers/Celtics rivalry. A rivalry that spans over 50 years. On the subplot menu in this affair was the Lakers thirst for revenge after a January 30th defeat at the hands of Boston. That defeat seemed to open the floodgates on potential Laker trades and changes. None of which have occurred and all have been denied. For the Celtics it was all about Ray Allen seeking...

PSU loses bowl and QB
Posted on 5 Jan 2011 by Stephanie Geosits.
The denizens of Happy Valley are still licking their wounds after Florida ran away with the Outback Bowl. By throwing no less than five picks, QB Matt McGloin was the Gators' most effective passer. They had three in their own uniforms, too. But almost more important than the defeat the Nittany Lions suffered was the word from Robert Bolden's father that he would be transferring. As a true fresh...

Islanders give New Jersey Devil of a time, roll 5-1
Posted on 24 Dec 2010 by Dave Thomas.
When the two worst teams in the NHL battle, one might expect there'd be a tight, hard-fought contest. As it turned out Thursday night in Newark, the New York Islanders cruised past the New Jersey Devils 5-1, spoiling the return once again to the New Jersey bench of Jacques Lemaire. The former Canadiens player and two-time Devils coach, started his third stint in New Jersey as head coach follow...

Islanders go down to 12th straight defeat; when will they win?
Posted on 21 Nov 2010 by Dave Thomas.
While you can't fault the recent effort of the New York Islanders, it is hard to find something good to say about the end result. Saturday night on Long Island was no different, as the Isles suffered their 12th straight defeat, the second in a row for new head coach Jack Capuano. In their 4-1 loss to Florida, the Islanders continued to play with emotion at times, but not see the ‘W' they ...

A Tradition Unlike Any Other, Clippers Play Well Enough to Lose Closely
Posted on 7 Nov 2010 by Donovan Williams.
Just like the Clippers. Snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. The Clippers built an early lead against the Utah Jazz earlier tonight and used several proven methods to find defeat. First was foul trouble. Blake Griffin fouled out. He left the contest with 2:28 left to play. Chris Kaman was in foul trouble for a majority of the game and Eric Gordon ended the game with 5 fouls as well. Kaman ha...

The Wildcats were manhandled in all facets of the game last week, led by Husker QB Taylor Martinez, who ran for 241 yards and four touchdowns. Rams Finding Ways To Lose
Posted on 21 Sep 2010 by Chad Craghead.
Another week, another frustrating Rams defeat. In what has become the norm in St. Louis, the Rams have started each game of this young NFL season fairly strong on both sides of the ball. QB Sam Bradford started 6 for 6 from the field against the Oakland Raiders on Sunday and led the Rams to a quick 7-0 lead. RB Steven Jackson was a load, breaking off several runs of over 10 yards in the fir...

New Year; Same Bills
Posted on 12 Sep 2010 by Norm Duhamel.
The Buffalo Bills have gone down in defeat against the Miami Dolphins 15-10 in week one. Many disappointments in this game. Trent Edwards came out flat going 18 of 34 for 139 yards and 1 touchdown; C.J. Spiller was no Thriller only getting 6 yards. There are 2 positives that come from this game, firstly, the defense looked very strong only giving up 164 passing yards letting our offense h...
