Red Sox At The Break On Top
Posted on 15 Jul 2011 by "Baseball Brenda" Sepanek.
I apologize for disappearing the last TWO months. The Bruins fully redirected my focus this spring. Not in my wildest dreams did I expect to be sitting at an ice rink deep into June. I was fortunate to attend Game 7 vs. Montreal, Game 4 vs. Philly, Game 2 vs. Tampa Bay and Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Finals. I got into Game 6 FREE, by being my outgoing self and talking to a stranger next to me at...

Happy New Year Boston; Patriots Finish with NFL Best 14-2
Posted on 2 Jan 2011 by Geoff Poster.
With the end of 2010 coming and going, Boston fans are looking forward to what should be an exciting 2011. What potentially makes that 2011 so exciting? The slim chance that all four of the major sports teams of this great city could turn Boston into either Championship City or Title Town. The first team that will get the opportunity to test that possibility actually calls Foxborough, MA inste...

Red Sox Drop Two Out of Three to Detroit
Posted on 19 May 2010 by "Baseball Brenda" Sepanek.
Last Friday, the Red Sox began a 13-day stretch in which they will play 11 games on the road, all against contenders. If they come out ahead it will be impressive. They started off strong in Detroit beating the Tigers last Friday night 7-2. David Ortiz was the star of the night smashing two long home runs with 4 RBIs on the night. His first home run went 450 feet and the second 400 feet. It wa...

Red Sox Bullpen Hold On For The Win
Posted on 11 May 2010 by "Baseball Brenda" Sepanek.
The Red Sox hung on to beat the Toronto Blue Jays 7-6. It was their 4th straight win over the Jays and it was a messy one. With 10 walks and 10 runs over 2 innings, it took an hour and 2o minutes to complete. John Lackey faced Brandon Morrow and both were shaky. The Sox took an early 2-0 lead on a Victor Martinez single up the middle scoring Marco Scutaro who walked and Dustin Pedroia who doubl...

Where is that Run Prevention Theo?

People that know me best, know when it comes to the Red Sox, I am a complete optimist. They can do no wrong in my book. When they are struggling, I always believe they will turn things around. Therefore, I am not jumping ship like the most of Red Sox Nation. I am simply riding out this long storm. It reminds me of the severe rain we had throughout New England last month. It went on for days and...

The Red Sox Welcome Darnell McDonald

We are three weeks into season and the Red Sox are off to their worst start in years. They are 8-11 on the season and are bottom dwellers of the American League East. This 10-game home stand was a roller coaster of ups and downs. Things went from bad to worse real fast. Last Saturday I went to Fenway Park to watch Friday night's suspended rain game against the Tampa Bay Rays. It picked up in th...

Red Sox drop opening series; but win first series on the road
Posted on 12 Apr 2010 by "Baseball Brenda" Sepanek.
Week one of the 2010 season is in the books. The Red Sox are 3-3 on the season. They dropped 2 out of 3 to the Yankees. You can always count on a Sox/Yankee game to take at least 4 hours and they didn't let us down. Tuesday and Wednesday's games lasted 3:46 and 3:48, respectively. It's no secret these games take forever. The fans have accepted it, but evidently the umpires haven't. Umpire Joe W...
