The Mariners were game. The Angels just had more game
Posted on 8 Sep 2011 by Bill Mahoney.
It's really hard to not get excited about the Angels. Every time I think they are done they find a way to get back in the AL West race. The unfortunate thing, time is running out. . The Angels looked decent on Monday, slapping around 7 hits on their way to a 7-3 victory. The Mariners did the Angels a bunch of favors by committing 5 errors. The errors didn't amount to much, as the Angels still ...

Baseball’s Top 10 Records

On Friday night, Andre Ethier of the Los Angeles Dodgers ran his hitting streak to 30 games, the highest total since Jimmy Rollins hit in 35 straight in 2005. While the attention on Ethier's hit streak has garnered a lot of attention – and rightfully so – he is still 26 games short of Joe DiMaggio's 56-game hitting streak in 1941. Will Ethier reach DiMaggio's record? More than...

Guess what? The Mariners still can't hit. It would be nice to write a new blog and actually have something new to say but really the Mariners have yet to do anything different this entire season. The script is pretty much as follows… Very good starting pitching. check Bullpen is adequate. check Ichiro and Gutierrez hitting around .300 or .340 in Ichiro's case. check The rest of the team ...

Same Old Song

I really wish I could say that this team is showing signs of turning the corner, and showing why a lot of pundits picked this team as a surprise dark horse team this year. Unfortunately I can't. After splitting a pair against the Toronto Blue Jays in which they were damned lucky to come back in game two of the set, and dropping two of three to the Padres in their first taste of inter league pla...

This Is Getting Ugly

The Mariners have now dropped seven in a row after another 8-0 loss this time at the hands of the Angels. The M's had just come off of back to back sweeps. Getting rolled up by the Rangers and Rays respectively. Amazingly at 11-18 Seattle is still only 4.5 games out of the division lead behind the aforementioned Texas Rangers. The offense is clearly the problem with this team and Mario Mendoza ...

Reds Power Sinks Mariners
Posted on 20 Mar 2010 by Dave Allen.
Cincinnati scored all of their runs on homers as the Reds came from behind to beat Seattle 6-2 in Goodyear on Friday night. The win broke a 3-game losing streak. Seattle got a run in the first inning off of Reds starter Aaron Harang (W, 1-1). Casey Kotchman got a 2-out single and Milton Bradley doubled him in for a 1-0 lead. That’s where it stood until Cincinnati put three on the board in eac...
