Fantasy Week 4 Waivers
Posted on 27 Sep 2011 by David Willow.
Another week in fantasy, another top tier player goes down. This week it is Kenny Britt. Hopefully this will slow down before we end up with M.A.S.H unit type teams in our fantasy line ups. Savvy fantasy owners plan for these types of events though, and so they scour the depths of the waivers in search of their week 4 gem. On that note, here's our week 4 waiver hot pick ups. Nate Washington ...

Fantasy Quick Picks and Injuries
Posted on 25 Sep 2011 by David Willow.
With the games coming to an end there is another round of injuries to look over. The biggest news of the day is the injury to Kenny Britt. After planting his foot in an awkward manner, he collapsed onto the field fumbling the ball. Eerily similar to what happened to Jamaal Charles last week, Britt's outlook is very bad. He was carted off the field and all signs point to a torn ACL. Advice - Fan...

Fantasy Week 3 Waivers
Posted on 20 Sep 2011 by David Willow.
Welcome back to fantasy waivers. It was a very interesting week 2 in the land of fantasy football. Where we had some major injuries, of course, highlighted by Jamaal Charles and what appears to be the end of his season with what sources are saying is a torn ACL. You have to hate to see a great player like Charles go down, especially with a season ending injury. Whether your a fan or not, fantas...

Tony Romo Played Through a Punctured Lung Sunday
Posted on 19 Sep 2011 by David Willow.
For those fans out there that harped on Tony Romo when he was out for an injured pinky questioning his toughness, a moment of silence please for a tough man. On Sunday, in San Francisco Romo got hit on his blindside by corner Carlos Rogers. He went to the back got a shot to numb the pain, and went back in. Before you brush off the idea, consider how it would feel to have it hurt when you breath...

Jamaal Charles and Big Ben Injured in First Half
Posted on 18 Sep 2011 by David Willow.
Charles ran a nice stretch play, but was forced out of the game with a knee injury and was subsequently carted off the field. He is listed as questionable to return, but fantasy owners should be scrambling to grab Thomas Jones off the waivers. If Charles misses any significant time, Jones will likely be the back who will cash in. There are no reports as of yet on the extent of the injury so don...

Is Johan Santana Still on This Team?
Posted on 13 Sep 2011 by Jim Mancari.
In winter 2008, the Mets paid a hefty price to acquire Johan Santana from the Minnesota Twins. Four good-looking prospects and a six-year, $137.5 million contract is what it took for the Mets to secure their new ace. As of now, the trade, at least based on the prospects, looks like a steal for the Mets. Philip Humber, Carlos Gomez and Kevin Mulvey are no longer with the Twins, while Deolis Guer...

Buffalo Stampede, Bills Win!
Posted on 11 Sep 2011 by Norm Duhamel.
The Buffalo Bills did not have to wait long to get their first win of the season as they beat the Kansas City Chiefs 41-7. Last year they were winless until they beat the Detroit Lions 14-12 in week 10! Hopefully this win will be an indicator of what will come from the Bills this year. What more can Bills fans ask for? Offense, defense and special teams were on their game today. The Bills may...

Cowboys Lose Starters Jenkins and Smith Going Into Season Opener
Posted on 7 Sep 2011 by David Willow.
The Cowboys have reportedly lost 2 starters just days before their Sunday night opener against the New York Jets. Starting corner Mike Jenkins will miss the game after hurting his knee to go along with Terrence Newman, who is nursing an groin injury. That will leave Orlando Scandrick and Alan Ball as the starting corners which doesn't fare well. We saw how Vincent Jackson handled the likes of ...

Daniel Murphy to the Outfield?
Posted on 10 Aug 2011 by Jim Mancari.
In lieu of Daniel Murphy’s second injury at second base in less than a year and half, Mets GM Sandy Alderson addressed the media about a possible position change for Murph. Alderson realizes Murphy’s hitting potential—as evidenced by his .320 batting average, which ranks him fifth in NL—and said that the team would like to find a spot for him in the batting order everyday. However, not ...

Roy Oswalt Injury: Improving the Offense Just Became Even More Important
Posted on 25 Jun 2011 by Adrian Fedkiw.
Roy Oswalt's been fighting lingering back issues all season long. He already spent some time on the disabled list earlier on in the year with the same concerns. After leaving last night's game after the second inning, Oswalt's return is indefinite. The velocity on Oswalt's fastball has steadily dipped since his first stint on the DL. He's a pitcher that likes to get his fastball up in the...

Missing: Braves offense!
Posted on 10 Jun 2011 by Marcus Young.
It may be time to tack up some “MISSING” fliers on neighborhood trees and on milk cartons around Turner Field like when pets run away. Or do they still mail out those sad “Have you seen me?” cards when people disappear? Because the Atlanta Braves offense is definitely missing in action. After dropping 2 of 3 to the lowly Mets last weekend (a team battling serious injur...

Not the Injury Bug Again
Posted on 5 May 2011 by Jim Mancari.
Shades of the 2009 Mets are already apparent here this season. Though that team was more talented on paper, it was ravaged by the injury bug which gave Jerry Manuel very little to work with on a day-to-day basis. Well, it seems that injuries already have played a role this season. Last year's breakout player, Angel Pagan, is on the disabled list, though he will hopefully return shortly. The M...
