Third Time Was Not The Charm: Iowa Loses to Iowa State 44-41 in Triple OT
Posted on 11 Sep 2011 by Debbie Baratz.
In this rivalry's first OT game, the two teams made sure it was a good one. At least it was for Iowa State. On Saturday, Iowa lost 44-41 to Iowa State in an epic three-OT game. It was Iowa State's 4-yard TD run by James White that finally put the nail in the coffin for the visiting Hawkeyes. It was an ugly game. Iowa started off slowly but got on the board first with a touchdown by redshirt wid...

Jayhawks/Cyclones Preview
Posted on 12 Jan 2011 by Shaun Albin.
The Kansas Jayhawks are clearly the better team entering tonight’s game. Anyone who thinks the Iowa State Cyclones will do more damage in March is likely off their medication. With all that said, expect a battle in the Hilton Coliseum. For as good as they’ve been this season, the Jayhawks have failed to put power conference teams away. It does not seem Nebraska will play that bad this y...

Iowa State Cyclones did not fair well again this week despite their very valiant effort against the Kansas State Wildcats. The Cyclones came up just a bit short of a late game comeback victory. Kansas State's game plan was pretty much wear down the Iowa State defense by giving the ball to their running back Daniel Thomas, Thomas rushed for a total of 181 yards and two touchdowns in just 34 carr...
