Grading The Cardinals In 2011
Posted on 3 Nov 2011 by Chaz Ingram.
I could make this article very short and sweet and simply issue the St. Louis Cardinals a letter grade of an “A” considering they just won the 2011 World Series. However, just as in school a grade is given based on a student’s effort over the course of the entire year, not just on the final exam. And as we all know the Cardinals were struggling well into the second half of the season b...

Pujols’ Star Shines Bright, Cardinals Take 2-1 Lead in Series
Posted on 23 Oct 2011 by Chaz Ingram.
Game three of the 2011 World Series took a turn for the expected last night in Arlington, TX. St. Louis and Texas turned things up a notch or two from the previous two games in St. Louis and delivered the slugfest fans thought it would be to begin with. There may be no reasonable explanation for Saturday's outburst but something put a jolt into these teams. Maybe it was the weather. ...

Epic Phail

It’s over. What started in February with the eternal hope of spring and the unequalled exuberance of a winning team loaded with talent on a mission to win a championship… has ended. Much as we tend to embrace our Phillies heroes and ride that bandwagon with them in good times we as fans also critique (and even boo them) in bad times. Sounds like the reaction of family – always wanting you...

Redbirds Poised To Take Commanding 2-1 Lead

The fact that the St. Louis Cardinals entered the 2011 playoffs as a wildcard may somehow convince baseball fans that they are underdogs to the Philadelphia Phillies in the 2011 National League Division Series. But fans in Cardinals Nation are not deceived at all. And maybe after a come from behind victory in game 2 over none other than Cliff Lee should convince the rest of the nation as we...

For all intents and purposes the Milwaukee Brewers have locked up the NL Central. Now we focus our attention on the NL Wildcard race. Since August 25 St. Louis has gone 17-6 and shaved 8 games from Atlanta’s once 10.5 game lead. The Braves have gone 9-14 during the same time span and watched their lead in the wildcard race shrink to 2.5 games First baseman Albert Pujols celebrates a homerun...

Gomes Blast Salvages Opening Series with Cardinals
Posted on 9 Apr 2010 by Dave Allen.
The pitching of Bronson Arroyo and the clutch hitting of Jonny Gomes led the Reds to a 2-1 win over the Cardinals Thursday afternoon at Great American Ball Park. The win salvaged the series for Cincinnati, who looked bad in dropping the first two games of the season to St. Louis, 11-6 and 6-3. The fifth-largest crowd in GABP history (42.493) enjoyed one of the all-time best weather days in Ope...
