Los Angeles Angels Update
Posted on 26 Sep 2012 by Joshua Skelton.
Manager Mike Scioscia has been trying really hard for us to lose these very important games. His pitching changes have been curious at best. He took Jerome Williams out of the first game, in a very important series against Texas, when he was shutting down the Rangers in a big way, for Garrett Richards who proceeded to give up 2 runs when we were on our way back into that game. Then, instead of ...

Angels pitch great, but their hitting is another story
Posted on 23 May 2012 by Bill Mahoney.
I said the Angels would win 1 of the 4 games in Oakland. If they win the 4th it'll truly be an amazing experience, as they only play three in the Bay. They get the Mariners for four starting Thursday. Either way, they got their one win in Oakland. Not much to say about Monday's contest. The Halos once again had little, to no offense. 1-5 with runners in scoring position didn't help either. On a...

Hey, hey, hey, Albert finally makes his presence felt
Posted on 19 May 2012 by Bill Mahoney.
So Albert Pujols hits one home run through the Angels first 37 games. I show up, and he hits a home run in back to back nights. Forget Jim Eppard, hire me. Pujols seems to like it when I'm in attendance–haha. The Angels lit up Gavin Floyd on Wednesday. Floyd had been pitching lights out until he ran into a suddenly potent Halo offense. Even Vernon Wells decided to join the attack, hitti...

Williams & Hunter prove to be double trouble for the Twins
Posted on 2 May 2012 by Bill Mahoney.
I know I was off my game in April, but the month has changed and I'll make sure to be more consistent. April is now over, so it's time for the real Angels to stand up. Facing arguably the worst team in baseball, the Minnesota Twins, the Angels are doing just that. Thank goodness they have Torii Hunter in the lineup. Through the first 2 games against his old team Hunter is 4-6 with 2 home runs, ...

Angels headed home after being tripped up on the road
Posted on 16 Apr 2012 by Bill Mahoney.
Time to come home. I am sure the Angels will be happy to be off the road. They should have gone 4-2 on the 6 game trip that took them to Minnesota and New York. Instead, they went 2-4, and are looking up at the all the teams in the West. The Halos gave up 34 runs in the 6 games, while scoring 31, so I guess a 2-4 was about right. That CJ Wilson sure can pitch. He had never won a game against th...

Hunter wants in (The postseason). Rodney wants out (Of the Angels organization)
Posted on 25 Sep 2011 by Bill Mahoney.
In what has to be a baseball miracle, the Angels are now within 2.5 games of Boston for the American League Wildcard. That's the good news. The bad news: There are just 4 games remaining. Angels beat the A's 4-2. Thank heaven the Angels brought Torii Hunter back with them from Toronto. Hunter is the only batter doing damage for the Halos. On Saturday, the Angels had 1 hit through 5 innings, an ...

Angels get off the road. Unfortunately at home, they get run over by a GIO.
Posted on 24 Sep 2011 by Bill Mahoney.
So I am not enjoying tonight's game, when my phone buzzes. A text? Who would be texting me right now, during the one game the Angels have to win? I breeze over to my phone, and notice 2 words that shook me to the core. Go A's! It's my friend, and die hard A's fan, Scott. Why, why, why I ask myself, would be do that to me? Than I remember. He's a die hard A's fan. Tonight the A's did go. They w...

6+ hours of baseball & 14 pitchers later, the Angels finally spilt the first 2 in Oakland
Posted on 14 Sep 2011 by Bill Mahoney.
I've been dreading this road trip for quite a while. Well, not Baltimore so much, but Oakland and Toronto. Oakland is, and always will be, a pain in the ass to the Angels. There is about 30 people in the stadium, the team is going no where, but they play the Angels like it's the 7th game of the World Series. I knew for the Angels to remain close to the Rangers, they would need at least one of t...

The Mariners were game. The Angels just had more game
Posted on 8 Sep 2011 by Bill Mahoney.
It's really hard to not get excited about the Angels. Every time I think they are done they find a way to get back in the AL West race. The unfortunate thing, time is running out. . The Angels looked decent on Monday, slapping around 7 hits on their way to a 7-3 victory. The Mariners did the Angels a bunch of favors by committing 5 errors. The errors didn't amount to much, as the Angels still ...

Dial M for Mariners. Seattle has the Angels number on Monday
Posted on 30 Aug 2011 by Bill Mahoney.
Coming off a tense showdown in Texas, I expected the Angels to take a little step back in Seattle, and they did just that. They lost 5-3, and now trail the idle Rangers by 3.5 games in the AL West. Every time I watch Joel Pineiro pitch, I feel like I am at the circus watching the guy walk the high wire. I don't want him to fall, but I can't take my eyes off him. Pineiro gives up about a hit, or...

Angels, led by Williams, play real well…and they play Wells.
Posted on 21 Aug 2011 by Bill Mahoney.
I could make this entire blog about Vernon Wells, but that wouldn't be fair to Jerome Williams now, would it? Come on, who among you thought Williams would pitch 1 run ball for 7 innings today? Yes, the Orioles are a bad team, just playing out the string, but Williams looked real good. Changing speeds, moving the ball around, even pitching out of a tough 4th inning jam. Williams came out of th...

At least for one game, Angels on the Mark
Posted on 19 Aug 2011 by Bill Mahoney.
The Texas Rangers have been around since 1972. In those 39 years they have never swept a 4 game series in Anaheim. That streak is still intact, thank's to Mark Trunbo's walk off 2 run home run in the bottom of the 9th on Thursday. Angels salvaged 1 of the 4 games, win 2-1. Jered Weaver is back to looking like….Jered Weaver. 1 run allowed in 7 innings of work for the ace of the staff. The ...
