Where the Jays Stand – Shortstop (and Other Stuff)
Posted on 7 Nov 2011 by Ben Fisher.
Before we get to looking at Yunel Escobar and the SS position for the Jays, a quick look back on what has been a busy week, albeit maybe not it the ‘getting big names into the fold’ way that some would ideally prefer. 1 – Jays Outright Loewen and Carlson It’s interesting that Adam Loewen, he of just 32 at-bats with the Blue Jays, was the emphasized loss of the two, while Jesse Carlson, ...

Diamondbacks Sprinting to Finish with NL West Lead
Posted on 31 Aug 2011 by Matthew Hesse.
This entire season the Giants seemed to have that edge to keep them in first place. Then recently the Diamondbacks took the lead despite falling apart on their road trips to Philadelphia and Atlanta. Everyone assumed the NL West would be a divisional race up until the final game and possibly beyond. The Arizona Diamondbacks, like they have all season, threw everyone for a loop with their ...

Jays Ship Hill, McDonald Off to Arizona

The team benefited from some excellent starting pitching and timely hitting to take the first two games before a Brian Tallet-led implosion late in the finale. My Thoughts: A positive sign There’s still work to be do...

The Series Rewind: Jays stave off sweep in Tampa after a pair of blowout losses
Posted on 11 Jun 2010 by Ben Fisher.
The Breakdown: I guess the best thing to say is that it could have been worse for the Blue Jays (34-27). After all, whether you lose in a hard-fought battle or by a nine-run deficit (as the team did in the series’ first two games), it all reads the same in the standings. After two embarrassing performances against the Rays, Toronto was at least able to salvage the series by hanging on to a 3-...
