Mike D’Antoni & L.A. Lakers star in The Italian Job
Posted on 18 Nov 2012 by Cal Lee.
Mike D'Antoni will be calling his first game as the head coach for the Los Angeles Lakers against the Phoenix Suns tonight at the Staples Center. The expectations of success for the embattled head coach will be at its highest since his hiring was looked at as a means for Jim Buss to snub legendary head coach Phil Jackson over coaching this talented squad. Everyone in the NBA community knew the ...

NBA 50 game statistical review
Posted on 6 Feb 2011 by Allan Jiang.
As future hall of fame coach Gregg Popovich contemplates about the playoffs and potentially a fifth NBA championship, his San Antonio Spurs are 42-8 (.840). Statistically where does this Spurs team compare with some of the best ever NBA teams? 72-10 (.900) was the stunning regular season of the legendary 1995-96 Chicago Bulls who were 45-5 (.900). Before the 1995-96 Chicago Bulls, there was the...

Suns Run It, Take Game 3
Posted on 24 May 2010 by Gabriel Rodriguez.
The Phoenix Suns held home court and beat the Lakers last night, 118-109. Amare Stodemire had a monster game. He scored 42 points and grabbed 11 boards. Maybe he was responding to Charles Barkley's challenge to grab ten rebounds a game. The Suns were only 5 for 20 from behind the arc, but Jason Richardson was 4 of 7 on his own, scoring 19 points. The most surprising performance was from R...

For the first minute and a half of Game 1 on the Western Conference Finals the Suns looked amazing. Steve Nash was buzzing around the court, driving and finding the open man. The Lakers were a...

Posted on 17 May 2010 by Gabriel Rodriguez.
Phil Jackson and Steve Nash have been able to keep quiet for a day so now our attention can actually turn to the on the court business in the series between their respective teams, the L.A. Lakers and the Phoenix Suns. So even though, as a Spurs fan, my wish is for the NBA to make these franchises substitute their teams with their D-League affiliates (the stellar Iowa Energy and L.A. D-Fenders,...

No Bynum, No Problem

The world felt like it was coming to an end for a moment Friday night when Andrew Bynum got hurt and strained his achilles’ tendon. But then everyone woke up and realized ‘Been there, done that’. Bynum being hurt is not new to the Lakers; it’s pretty much become a yearly routine for the young center. In the last two seasons Bynum has missed a total of 85 games, which is practically a wh...

Fish needs to get flushed

Derek Fisher has been the starting point guard for the Lakers since leaving the Utah Jazz in the offseason of 2007 and year after year his performance continues to get worse and worse. Fisher is 36, in his 13th year in the league and it is clear that his biological clock is ticking at rapid speeds. This year he averages a dismissal 7.4 ppg, 2.5 assists and shoots a horrible 38% from the floor, ...
