Sweet sweep for the Angels
Posted on 17 Apr 2011 by Bill Mahoney.
Give it up for the Angels. A three game sweep of the White Sox put the Angels in to a first place tie with the Texas Rangers, who they just happen to play next. I didn’t think that Tyler Chatwood would look as dominant as he did on Saturday. That’s why I quit betting on sports, because I always pick wrong. Anyway, the Sox sure were impressed. Paul Konerko raved about his performance. Not a ...

Angels weave out a win over Chicago
Posted on 16 Apr 2011 by Bill Mahoney.
Nothing like starting a a six game road trip with your best pitcher on the mound. Jered Weaver started and delivered, overcoming a 30 minute rain delay to beat the White Sox 4-3. Weaver is pitching as well as any big name in baseball. Tonight he went 7 innings, allowing only 2 earned runs to lower his ERA to 1.30. He probably would've given up 1 run, but after the rain delay, he left a hanging ...

The Angels now get to watch Beltre for the next 5, or maybe 6, years. Yes, Angel fan...

Halos right where they wanted. And why they should be worried
Posted on 8 Jun 2009 by Nich Hall.
At the beginning of the 2009 season the Angels mission was to stay afloat until their rotation returned healthy. For the most part the Halos have played that part to near perfection. Saturday in Detroit Kelvim Escobar made his first MLB start since 2007 completing the Angels vaunted starting rotation. Mike Scioscia can now throw out Lackey, Saunders, Santana, Weaver, and Escobar as his starting...

Still three back, Halos host Mariners
Posted on 29 May 2009 by Nich Hall.
This past week was supposed to be a great opportunity for the Angels, they were hosting the lowly Chicago White Sox while the division leading Rangers faced the Yankees. Ideally the Halos would have been able to gain some ground but the White Sox clearly had different plans. On Memorial Day the Angels were absolutely run out of their building. Ervin Santana making his third start of the season ...
