The Kick That Wasn’t
Posted on 4 Dec 2011 by David Willow.
It will go down as the story of the game. Jason Garrett called a time out on the last play of regulation icing Dan Bailey, his own kicker. Bailey would make the first kick and miss the second, sending the Cowboys into overtime where the Cardinals would win the game on a Kevin Kolb pass to LaRod Stevens-Howling for a 52 yard score. Hyphenated name jokes aside, it was a stunning play for Dallas, ...

Angels snap!! Break their losing steak.
Posted on 12 Jun 2011 by Bill Mahoney.
The thing about loving your team is that every win feels so great, but every loss hurts that much more. I know there are 162 games, and my Angels can't win every game. I know that, but I can't stop getting frustrated when they lose. This recent 6 game losing streak has driven me crazy. I know the team is deficient, and young, at certain positions, but I never thought I'd see them lose 6 straigh...

A One Sided Bay Bridge Series as A’s Continue to Lose
Posted on 23 May 2011 by Josh Muller.
This week has been a roller coaster of emotions. It started out great as the A’s took two games from the Angels, one with extra inning heroics on Monday, and the other in decisive fashion on Tuesday, crushing the halos 14-0. But it’s been pretty much down hill ever since. On Wednesday and Thursday, the A’s lost a two game home series to the last place Minnesota Twins and when I say last p...

Kings Lose Kopitar
Posted on 27 Mar 2011 by Eric Cooney.
First off, sorry for the prolonged absence. I was on a long vacation and definitely suffered from blogger withdrawal. Anyone who showed a remote interest in hockey I would prattle on to forever, so it's good to be back. There's a lot going on for the Kings right now, so I'd like to just touch on the few things that will be impacting the Kings… severely. (more…)

Rangers Pass On Richards; Lose Biron for the Season
Posted on 28 Feb 2011 by Margaret DeJesus.
There's good news and bad news. Let's go with the bad news first. The Rangers have a lot of breaks, and not the kind they can catch. Just as the trade deadline hoopla was winding down this afternoon, Glen Sather announced that his team's backup netminder — arguably the best and most reliable they've had in years — Martin Biron would be out for the season. Biron broke his collarbone ...

AS WADE COOLS IN FOURTH QUARTER, HEAT LOSE
Posted on 28 Jan 2011 by Sean Eckhardt.
No, no, no, no ,no. The Miami Heat found themselves in the middle of a Destiny's Child chorus as they lost to the New York Knicks on Thursday night, 93-88. Dwyane Wade could not save them, though he did keep them in the game single-handedly for three quarters. LeBron looked like Charlie Sheen in “Major League” for most of the game; he couldn't hit the ocean if he fell...

Lions Find Another Way To Lose
Posted on 7 Nov 2010 by Bob Ballard.
With 5:19 left to go in the game with the Lions leading the New York Jets 20-10, there was a hush sound from Ford Field. Lions QB Matthew Stafford laid on the ground holding his right shoulder. He would not return to the game as it was the same shoulder injury that sidelined him for 5 games. Backup QB Drew Stanton replaced Stafford, but could not move the chains. After the Lions pun...

A Tradition Unlike Any Other, Clippers Play Well Enough to Lose Closely
Posted on 7 Nov 2010 by Donovan Williams.
Just like the Clippers. Snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. The Clippers built an early lead against the Utah Jazz earlier tonight and used several proven methods to find defeat. First was foul trouble. Blake Griffin fouled out. He left the contest with 2:28 left to play. Chris Kaman was in foul trouble for a majority of the game and Eric Gordon ended the game with 5 fouls as well. Kaman ha...

Bengals Lose 4th in a Row
Posted on 2 Nov 2010 by Adrian Fedkiw.
The Dolphins remain undefeated on the road (4-0) by dispatching the Bengals 22-14. In my opinion, I think the Dolphins are the most underrated team in the NFL. For the second consecutive week, PK Dan Carpenter nailed five field goals for Miami. They lost last week, but picked up the win this past week. The Miami red-zone offense must improve moving forward. It was a tale of two halves ...

New York Sports Lose an Icon
Posted on 26 Oct 2010 by Stephanie Geosits.
Bill Shannon, a long-time denizen of pressboxes in and around New York, passed away in a house fire yesterday. He was 69 and spent his life devoted to sports. Shannon was a free-lance writer who covered baseball for the Associated Press as well as reported on tennis, and followed Columbia and other university sports in the metropolitan area. He will long be remembered for his work as an offi...

A win is a win.
Posted on 5 Oct 2010 by Michael Adamec.
I needed a few days to calm down from this weekends W. A win is a win right? Right! We should let Roddy White play defense. He gets the game ball for this week. If he doesn't punch that ball loose – Falcons Lose. Plus he made some outstanding receptions on that last drive. It had all the makings of a last second win. 43 yards and it is good. Just win, win somehow someway. It doesn't matte...

Texans Lose to Rival Cowboys
Posted on 27 Sep 2010 by Jon Lopez.
Coming off a huge overtime victory over the Redskins, the Texans seemed to hve nothing left in the tank for the Cowboys. Arian Foster had an outstanding game. Rushing for 106 yards at 6.7 yards per carry but a costly fumble in the fourth quarter cast a shadow over his day. Schaub's two second half interceptions capped off what was just a bad day for the offense. The defense didn't show up. The...
