Tough Loss to Start the Week
Posted on 15 Mar 2011 by Jon Lopez.
Mondays loss to the Heat was a tough one to take. The defense wasn't bad just alittle unfocused. The bright spot is TP9. TP9 is starting to get hot at the right time. Losing to the Heat sucks but we've already proven we can hang with them. I'm sure analyst all over are putting the Spurs down for blowout losses to the Lakers and the Heat. Thats why I don't watch ESPN after losses. Everybody has b...

Sixers Come Back But Falter in OT Against Jazz
Posted on 14 Mar 2011 by Bennett Snyder.
I'm not sure how to perceive this game. Should I applaud them for being down 18 at half but then showing heart on the road and coming back to send it into overtime? Should I be angry that the Sixers actually took a lead and had a shot to win it before going to overtime? I'll take both sides and be happy with their effort because against the Bucks they fell apart, but the Jazz they showed real l...

Clippers-Grizzlies Preview (March 14)
Posted on 14 Mar 2011 by Taylor Smith.
The Los Angeles Clippers may have no real aspirations at making the playoffs this season, but that doesn't mean they can't make things difficult for the teams that do. They'll face one of those Monday night when they visit Memphis to take on the Grizzlies, who sit just a game-and-a-half ahead of the Phoenix Suns for the final playoff spot. The Clippers have endured their fair share of woes away...

PP Failures Doom Canes
Posted on 13 Mar 2011 by Brad Kurtzberg.
Anybody who doubts the importance of special teams in hockey didn't watch the Carolina Hurricanes frustrating 3-2 loss to the Columbus Blue Jackets Saturday night. The Canes had nine power play chances against the Blue Jackets including four chances with a 5-on-3 advantage, but failed to score a goal. In fact, their power play was a minus one as Columbus opened the scoring with a shorthanded ...

Chicago Goes Crazy From Deep in Rout of Jazz
Posted on 13 Mar 2011 by Wilson Tarpeh Jr..
Utah just came off a loss last night, the NBA life has no sympathy as they took on the Chicago Bulls tonight. The Bulls are incredibly hot right now, the Jazz pretty much just walked into the Lion's Den. No disrespect to Devin Harris who is a terrific point guard in his own right, this was a game where Deron Williams was missed. You can't take on top 5 PG's in this league with out having one yo...

Illini Blow 12 Point Second Half Lead in Loss to Wolverines
Posted on 11 Mar 2011 by Jason Patt.
The Illinois Fighting Illini once again found a way to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. The Illini (19-13) relinquished a 12 point second half lead in a 60-55 loss to the Michigan Wolverines (20-12) in the Big Ten Tournament Quarterfinals. Darius Morris led all scorers with 17 points, including 8 big ones down the stretch for the Wolverines. Tim Hardaway Jr. added 16 for Michigan, wh...

Sixers Earn Biggest Win of Year, Hold Off Celtics
Posted on 11 Mar 2011 by Bennett Snyder.
Coming down the stretch I thought “here we go again”. This game was different though, the Sixers defense was unbelievable. Not just in the last 5 minutes but the whole game. Combine that with the lucky running finger-roll that Andre Iguodala threw in to ice the game, and that is a perfect recipe for an upset. Ray Allen only had 5 points and didn't hit his first bucket til the 4th qu...

Bruins Duck out of Pac-10 Tournament Early
Posted on 11 Mar 2011 by Josh Lehmer.
Well, that was embarrassing. The UCLA Bruins, coming off a second place finish in the Pac-10 and looking to start a streak to head into the postseason, got bounced out of the first round of the Pac-10 tournament. By a bad team. By 17 points. The loss is somewhat reminiscent of UCLA’s loss in the first round of the conference tournament to Cal in 2007 – difference being, the 2007 loss bu...

Thoughts on the state of the New York Rangers
Posted on 4 Mar 2011 by Adam Gavriel.
In this post I’m not necessarily going to break the game down for you, but basically go through the thought process that I’ve been experiencing all day. Trying to figure out what the rest of the season for the Rangers is going to be. Trying to figure out where this team is going and if they’re going to be fortunate enough to play in the second season. Initially after last night’s g...

Can Ottawa Afford to Rebuild?
Posted on 3 Mar 2011 by Mika Oehling.
There's no question that Ottawa has to rebuild. Based on the poor season it's had and the so-called big trades of the past resulting in very little for the Senators, rumours, intrigue, loss of star players for veritably little in return and concerns about the coach, it's clear that the team has to go through some changes. And much like a nasty infection, the transition period is going to get wo...

Hawks coming back from the West Coast (and so am I)
Posted on 28 Feb 2011 by John Morgo.
Atlanta just wrapped up its' marathon road trip with a 100-90 loss to Denver. I just finished unpacking after getting in from Las Vegas a few hours ago. I'm tired, and jet lagged, but I'll try to give you the news. First off, Atlanta went 3-4 on the trip, but they got wins in places you'd expect: Detroit, Portland, and Golden State. But the big question is the trade. How is Kirk Hinrich replaci...

EMBARRASSING LOSS
Posted on 28 Feb 2011 by Sean Eckhardt.
Hubie Brown said it, not me. The Miami Heat suffered an embarrassing loss at home to the New York Knicks on Sunday night. The Knicks were able to rally from several deficits to beat the Heat 91-86. For Miami, this night was supposed to be about quieting the Knickerbocker fans that were in attendance, very excited about their new toy; Carmelo Anthony. Instead, the Heat looked ve...
