The Leafs This Week – Nov. 18-24
Posted on 24 Nov 2011 by Ben Fisher.
What Happened A 2-2 week is a 2-2 week however you slice it. That being said, there were plenty of positives for the Leafs (12-8-2) to take away from a pair of 7-1 wins over Washington and Tampa Bay, two of the league’s eight 100+ point teams from last season, counter-balanced by a 4-1 loss in Nashville and a 3-2 fatigue-fuelled defeat at the hands of Carolina. What’s Notable Strength Down ...

Time for a Second Line Shake-Up
Posted on 15 Nov 2011 by Ben Fisher.
Here are some harsh truths as the Leafs continue their abrupt awakening from the dream that was the first 13 games of their NHL season: the goaltenders can’t be relied upon, the club’s scoring depth is woefully lacking and the second forward unit that clicked so smoothly last season looks like a trio of players on the ice with one another for the first time. The first truth is troublesome, ...

The Leafs This Week
Posted on 19 Oct 2011 by Ben Fisher.
What Happened The Leafs (3-0-1) will surely take the three of four available points they earned after visits this week from the Calgary Flames (3-2 comeback win) and Colorado Avalanche (3-2 OT loss) produced a pair of flat starts and highlighted some of the club’s inherent flaws. The Leafs This Week

On Tuesday, the Leafs traded a 2012 4th round draft choice to the New Jersey Devils for David Steckel, a 29-year old centre who is perhaps best known as the guy that knocked out Sidney Crosby in last...

After starting their season without a defeat in regulation in 8 straight games, the Nashville Predators have since lost 3 straight and currently sit at the bottom of the Central Division. Even at that, they current are in 9th place in the West and only trail Chicago by 2 points with 4 less games played. (more…)

Posted on 18 Sep 2010 by Chris Rydburg.
Can you feel it? Do you wish they would flood a lacrosse field so you could watch a real sport? Do you notice cars that remind you of Zamboni's? Is your idea of a great Halloween mask a face crushed against the glass? If so, you have “hockeyitis”. But fear not, help is coming soon. The leaves are already changing here in Oxford, Ohio. With the drop in temperature comes the prom...

Nashville Predators – 10 Remaining Questions
Posted on 20 Jul 2010 by Mark Jasper.
It has been over 3 months since I last wrote about the Nashville Predators. In those three months, Nashville and the Predators have undergone a dramatic facelift. For Nashville, the 100-year flood that left most regions of the city underwater changed the way Nashvillians looked at themselves and the city. Neighbors helping neighbors. Companies helping companies. Strangers helping stranger...
