Romero walks 8 in loss to Tigers
Posted on 21 Aug 2012 by Amanda Tallon.
The season has not been kind to Ricky Romero. After going 8-1 before the All-Star Break, Romero hasn’t been able to record a win in ten starts. His latest attempt against the Detroit Tigers was another forgettable trip to the mound for Romero. Over his last ten games, Romero has shown moments of improvement over his control issues that have plagued him all season. In his last start against th...

Max Scherzer Strikes Again
Posted on 17 Jun 2012 by Jeremy Klumpp.
The Tigers have played some of their best baseball during inter-league series over the past few seasons, and the 2012 campaign is no different. After, a Max Scherzer led, 5-0 victory over the Colorado Rockies today at Comerica Park, the Tigers are now 8-4 in inter-league play this season, and 78-42 since 2006. To add to the frustration the team recently followed a seven-game losing streak by winning eight of their next nine games. Hopefully Saturday’s dominant no-hitter from Justin Ve...

Sure felt like a playoff game, didn't it? The palpable intensity, intense pitching, late inning heroics and … the loss that puts the dagger in your season. Today was a one-game playoff for the Tigers, a now or “wait 'til next year” moment for a team that's been clawing for its life for a few weeks now. With a chance to even a tough series, Brandon Inge back at third, Carlos Gu...

Oh my Boesch! Rookies making the difference this year
Posted on 20 May 2010 by Shane Liebler.
The biggest question mark coming into this season had to be whether the Tigers could replace Curtis Granderson's athleticism and power. Rookie Austin Jackson has proved an apt leadoff man, leading the team in hits and stolen bases while currently tied with Johnny Damon for runs scored. Brennan Boesch has provided the muscle, batting in 19 runners in nearly as many games, slugging a team-leading...
