Today, Iowa Hawkeye All-Conference junior cornerback Shaun Prater announced that he will return to the football team for his senior year, forgoing an early entry to the NFL. That's good news for Hawkeye Nation. This season, Prater recorded 68 tackles, four interceptions, 10 passes defended and a fumble recovery. After Saturday's loss to the Northwestern Wildcats, the Iowa Hawkeyes (7-3, 4-2) dropped to No. 20 in the BCS standings and No. 21 in the AP polls. CMU traveled to Navy with not a lot to play for. A week after having a big win at home on senior day over your arch rival and a 3-7 record a late non conference game didn't really mean anything for the Chippewas.
