Big Win for the Minutemen
Posted on 21 Nov 2010 by Jeremy Frassa.
The UMass Minutemen dismantled the New Mexico State Aggies 71-57 on Saturday night at the MassMutual Center in Springfield, MA. Before the game, Derek Kellogg asked his team one simple question, “Are you guys going to play like a UMass team should?” UMass was unstoppable in the first half. It was a breath of fresh air, especially after their poor starts against Rider and Sacred Hear...

Minutemen Take Down the Pioneers
Posted on 17 Nov 2010 by Jeremy Frassa.
The Minutemen were able to hold off a late Sacred Heart run to win by the score of 73-65 and improve to 2-0 overall. I'm sure Derek Kellogg was hoping/expecting that his Minutemen would out score the Pioneers by at least 10 points, but unfortunately that was not the case tonight. Both teams started off slow with the two teams combining for six points in the first four minutes of the game. Both ...

Buffs look for redemption in Lawrence
Posted on 4 Nov 2010 by Matthew Stiles.
With a 3-1 start that included a drubbing of rival Colorado State and a thrilling victory over the big bad Bulldogs from the SEC (Georgia, not Mississippi State) a decent bowl game seemed like an almost certainty for the Colorado Buffalos. Four weeks later and the Buffs (3-5, 0-4) have lost four straight conference games , with a trip to Lincoln looming on the horizon, CU desperately needs a ...

Boise State vs Toledo Preview
Posted on 6 Oct 2010 by Nicholas Mosley.
In this week six matchup, the Boise State Broncos (4-0) will take on the Toledo Rockets (3-2) in Bronco Stadium as Boise State plays its final non-conference game. Last week against New Mexico State, Boise State trampled through the Aggies. They beat them 59-0 in a game where most of the starters were taken out by the third quarter. Toledo on the other hand, faced the Wyoming Cowboys, a team ...

Boise State vs New Mexico State Preview

So it begins…WAC play. Boise State has come through one fourth of its schedule unbeaten. From Landover to Laramie and back to the blue turf, Boise has looked like the team that everyone thought they would be at the beginning of the season. They have showed perseverance in the 33-30 win against Virginia Tech. Against Wyoming they showed off their explosive talent on both offense...

A 2-2 Jayhawk team is what you would expect heading into Big XII Conference play. It was an up and down non-con that finished with a better sign than when it had started. Behind the skills of Dj Beshears and James Sims, the Jayhawks easily rolled over the visiting Aggies of New Mexico State, 42-16. Beshears rushed for two scores on the ground, plus a kickoff return for another touchdown. Sims a...

A night to build to on
Posted on 18 Sep 2010 by David Freivogel.
Going into the game Friday night 1-1, KU looked for a convincing road win against Southern Miss. What they found was a Golden Eagle team looking to erase an embarrassing open national TV loss to South Carolina. And indeed they erased it with a 31-16 convincing win over the Jayhawks. It looked like the Jayhawk D was outgassed late in the 2nd half as the up tempo offense of Southern Miss. really ...

B(u)ying Time – New Mex. St. Heads to the Horseshoe
Posted on 30 Oct 2009 by Rebekah Edwards.
With a gap in conference play, Ohio State put their feelers out there to find a filler. The opponent shopping done was comparable to looking for a jersey of a specific player (who isn’t number 2) made for women. Meaning, you know there is one out there but it has to be exactly what you are looking for AND must be the right fit. The right fit came from the southwest. The Buckeyes opted to ...
