New York Rangers Draft Could Feature Trade
Posted on 21 Jun 2012 by Eric O'Connell.
The first round of the NHL Entry Draft is set for tomorrow night in Pittsburgh. While the NHL draft is not quite on the same plane of interest as the NFL draft or even the NBA draft, this year could be an exception. One reason of course is the level of talent of this draft class which many experts agree has a plethora of potential. Secondly, overall ratings this postseason were WAY up for the N...

Murray plays smart at the 2011 NHL Draft
Posted on 24 Jun 2011 by Mika Oehling.
There was only one thing that was going to make up for the disappointment of foregoing a first round draft pick last year in exchange for a trade that has so far not profited the Ottawa Senators; a good showing at this year's draft in Minnesota. And Murray didn't disappoint or make a predictable choice. In fact, he made an unlikely choice which was referred to in my pre-draft blog entry, mostly...

Those are the kind of results that can positively affect the future of a franchise for an extended period of time....

The 2010 NHL draft started out as expected. The Edmonton Oilers took this year's “can't miss” prospect Taylor Hall. Soon after, the Bruins picked Tyler Seguin from the Plymouth Whalers. Hall from the Memorial Cup champ, Windsor Spitfires, seems to be the more complete player at this point. Having said that, Seguin tied Hall for total points this season with 106 points on 48 goals an...
