Sweden Survives A Scare From Belarus
Posted on 19 Feb 2010 by Shane Hoopfer.
Turn back the clock eight years earlier when Belarus shocked Sweden in the Quarterfinals beating then 4-3. You would think Sweden would come out and send a message. Well yes and no. The first period went exactly to plan for Sweden completely dominating play and really made the game look like a bunch of NHL'ers playing a men's league team. They outshot Belarus 17-7 and lead 2-0 which ...

The Kid ends it
Posted on 19 Feb 2010 by Dan Caristo.
It wasn't supposed to be this close, but Canada still ended up on top. Credit needs to be given to the Swiss, who shut the Canadians out 2-0 in Turin, they played an aggressive style and were able to keep up with the Canadians. The San Jose Sharks Dany Heatley and Patrick Marleau were the only two who were able to beat Jonas Hiller, who played an outstanding game. The Swiss cut the lead i...

Getzlaf released a statement saying that he hopes to return to the ice this week with the Ducks and he is looking forward to joining Team Canada on Monday. Obviously this great news for both the Ducks and Team Canada.

Getzlaf injured in Ducks win
Posted on 9 Feb 2010 by Dan Caristo.
The Ducks snapped the Kings winning streak last night by beating them 4-2, giving Anaheim their 10th straight home win. Jonas Hiller was solid yet again, saving 35 of the 37 shots the Kings threw at him. Offensively, Teemu Selanne and Saku Koivu each had a goal and an assist. The Ducks currently sit in 11th place, three points behind the 8th and final playoff spot, and have played more games t...

Solid Gold – Team Canada’s projected roster for the 2010 Olympics
Posted on 7 Dec 2009 by Corey Krakower.
The hockey team that will be expected to win gold at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver will be named on December 30, approximately three weeks from today. That team, of course, is Team Canada. After a dismal showing in 2006, Steve Yzerman is now the man entrusted by Hockey Canada to piece together a winner on home soil. Yzerman has already let it be known that he will be looking for “...
