Redskins Lose…Again
Posted on 5 Nov 2012 by Mercedes Green.
It was a blah game. The Redskins lost by 8 points (21-13) and yes I’m going to talk about that TD by the Panthers that was technically called dead by the refs. The Panthers player was running parallel to the sideline and the ref clearly whistled him out of bounds and the play dead, yet he kept running into the end zone while a couple Redskins defenders slowed down and stopped. The refs ...

Redskins Panthers Preview
Posted on 2 Nov 2012 by Mercedes Green.
All eyes will be again on RG3. Comparisons have been made since he took the field this season to that of Cam Newton's rookie year, but it's clear that RG3 is not Cam Newton. Because RG3 is that good, any team he faces has some words about what they’re going to do to him. “We've got to attack him. I think that's going to be his downfall,” defensive end Greg Hardy said Wednesd...

Showdown Alert: Panthers at Bears
Posted on 28 Oct 2012 by Smiley.
Not many people, including me, predicted that this game would be as close as it came out to be. To win the game Jay Cutler had to take the Bears down the field from their own 22-yard line so that Robbie Gould could kick the game winner. But let's look at what kept this game close. Offense The first half was horrendous for the Chicago Bears save for some nice runs for Matt Forte. Jay Cutler was ...

Week 8 Match-up: Carolina Panthers at Chicago Bears
Posted on 25 Oct 2012 by Smiley.
October 27, 2012 at Soldier Field 12:00 ct. When the Carolina Panthers prowl into Soldier Field on Sunday, they will be coming off of a loss to the Cowboys, a game in which they competed hard but couldn't pull out the win. Even worse they have lost 4 straight games. Three of those losses came against some of the NFC's top teams. The Chicago Bears, on the other hand, have won 4 straight and face...

Man, It’s Tough to Be a Redskin Fan!
Posted on 24 Oct 2011 by Mercedes Green.
The Washington Redskins seem to have lost any momentum that they started the season with. The defense did hold the Panthers to only 9 points in the first half, but they would manage 24 points in the second half. The Redskins did have a running game going and a somewhat of a passing game, however, this ended when both Tim Hightower and Santana Moss were injured and taken out of the game. Roy...

Week 7 Preview: Skins Travel South to Carolina
Posted on 20 Oct 2011 by Mercedes Green.
The 3-2 Washington Redskins travel a little south to play the 1-5 Carolina Panthers and in typical Redskins fashion, we’re in the midst of yet another quarterback switch. Mike Shanahan announced on Wednesday that John Beck would be replacing Rex Grossman to start the game against Carolina. What’s even more worrisome for the Redskins offense is the loss of multiple O-Line players to injuri...

Rebuilding Blocks: Tallon, Panthers Tag Huberdeau
Posted on 25 Jun 2011 by Jon Melton.
Äæåê Ðè÷åð ñìîòðåòü îíëàéí áåñïëàòíî ST PAUL — When Dale Tallon announced his “blueprint” for rebuilding the Florida Panthers, most Panther fans were undoubtedly skeptical — and with good reason. The franchise hasn’t been to the playoffs in over 10 years and recent failures in the draft have made the future look bleak to most fans. That may ha...

Pitt’s late-season losses not as disappointing in retrospect
Posted on 3 Apr 2011 by Ryan Riordan.
As the college basketball world waits for the Connecticut-Butler championship battle Monday night, let's look back at a popular topic from two weeks ago. Jamie Dixon's teams at Pittsburgh underachieve in the NCAA Tournament. This of course was something brought up after Dixon's Panthers were eliminated in one of the most entertaining games of the tournament, a 71-70 loss to Butler in the Round...

Few Coaches Could Do What Jamie Dixon Has Done
Posted on 11 Mar 2011 by Justin Welton.
Jamie Dixon is under fire right now by the fans of the Panthers. They continue to bring up the fact that he hasn’t been able to get his teams to the Final 4. Many fans believe that Dixon was outcoached by Connecticut’s Jim Calhoun yesterday at the Big East Tournament. The fans are wondering why Pittsburgh switched on a high ball screen late in the game. Instead, McGhee was left on Kemba Wa...

Sens Steal Some Sunshine
Posted on 10 Mar 2011 by Mika Oehling.
The Ottawa Senators are on the ideal March road trip, stopping off for two games in a sunny state- Florida. They took the Panthers for a 2-1 win, proving that sunshine is indeed the best cure for the winter blahs. While it was a miserable grey March day with snow, rain and slush in Ottawa, the Senators were energized, with excellent play on the night from Ryan Shannon, Erik Karlsson and Craig A...

Panthers Win Big East Regular Season Title
Posted on 6 Mar 2011 by Justin Welton.
Villanova has never won at the Petersen Events Center and that trend continued on Saturday. Pittsburgh (27-4, 15-3 Big East) won the Big East regular season championship outright on a day where they celebrated four seniors on senior day. It wasn’t brilliant, flashy or even fun to watch, but it was how the Panthers win games. They out-rebounded the Wildcats 30-22, which is what they are know...
