Pitt: Ladies and Gentlemen, Todd Graham
Posted on 13 Jan 2011 by Michael Waterloo.
It seems as if every week for the past month I have been writing about the Pitt Panthers and their search for a new Coach, the candidates for the job, and the embarrassment that the school has faced during this time. There is no way that after all that transpired that Pitt could come out a winner could they? As a matter of fact, yes; yes they can, and yes they did. On Tuesday afternoon, A...

Pitt: Michael Haywood Out….Who’s Next?
Posted on 2 Jan 2011 by Michael Waterloo.
Michael Haywood is fired as Pitt Head Football Coach……What!?!?!?! Didn't this guy just get hired and now he's gone already? After being arrested for a domestic assault charge at his house in South Bend Indiana, which was changed to a felony, Pitt immediately fired Haywood upon his release from prison on Saturday. Is this some kind of joke? What an absolute debacle for the Un...

Can Michigan stop ANYONE?
Posted on 10 Nov 2010 by Curt Bell.
I've written about the Michigan defense before- from their inability to slow down opposing offenses on third down to being incapable of stopping opposing offenses from piling up hundreds of yards. After watching this past weekend's game, in which they pulled out a victory with a score of 67-65, yes, SIXTY SEVEN TO SIXTY FIVE, I'm at a loss for words. Now, the Illini had been no offensive slou...

Royster and Mac lead PSU past Michigan
Posted on 31 Oct 2010 by Stephanie Geosits.
There is joy in Happy Valley. After sputtering and struggling all season, Evan Royster finally put up a huge game and fill-in quarterback Matt McGloin (or Mac as Joe Paterno calls him) made a case for no longer being a backup. Royster ran for 150 yards and two touchdowns, while McGloin threw for 250 yards and a TD. More to the point, Paterno said his team “didn't do anything silly out the...

Is Michigan Back?
Posted on 6 Oct 2010 by Curt Bell.
With the Michigan Wolverines now 5-0 after escaping the Indiana Hoosiers 42-35 this past Saturday on yet another monster day from quarterback Denard Robinson, questions have once again started swirling around the squad wondering if, after two dismal rebuilding years under coach Rich Rodriguez, the Wolverines are truly back among college football elite. While they are ranked 17th in this week'...

QB Robinson’s knee not Michigan’s only concern
Posted on 28 Sep 2010 by Curt Bell.
While currently 4-0, ranked 20th, and boasting one of the mega-stars in college football this season in quarterback Denard Robinson, the Wolverines appear to be flying high as the first third of the season is now underway. While still not up to the level of success the team enjoyed under Lloyd Carr, the team certainly is heading in the right direction. That all seemed to be in jeopardy this...

Michigan v. UMass: A Preview
Posted on 16 Sep 2010 by Nick English.
Michigan heads into their home match-up with UMass this week fresh off of two impressive wins and with a new position in the national rankings. Michigan is ranked, 20th this week, for the first time since their hot start of a year ago. However, this year they hope to keep that hot start going well into the season and position themselves for a Big Ten title or, at worst, a reputable bowl game....

5 Simple Rules For Beating Michigan
Posted on 10 Sep 2010 by Jordan Lauterbach.
I'm a bit surprised at the coverage surrounding this game. I understand hype, but this is hardly the biggest Notre Dame – Michigan game of all - time. In fact, I'll venture that last season's was much bigger because some (me included) thought that Notre Dame had an outside shot at a national title (Yup, I drank that Cool – aid). Neither of these teams are close to being close to a ...

Notre Dame vs Michigan Preview
Posted on 9 Sep 2010 by Tim Lewis.
It may seem a little over the top to consider games in week 1 and week 2 “must wins”. However, in the case of college football, which remains as the only Division I sport absent of a playoff system, every week is a must win. How many games did Alabama and Texas combine to lose last year before meeting for the national championship? 0. There are no second chances in college...

Notre Dame Football – Thursday Links
Posted on 9 Sep 2010 by Jordan Lauterbach.
While we're on the subject (OK, we're not), I like the Saints to beat the Vikings tonight and Auburn over Mississippi State in the Thursday nighters. As much as I love college ball, I think I'll be locked on the NFL game tonight. Notre Dame connection – Irish super fan Taylor Swift will be performing in the pre – game concert on NBC. Dave Matthews will also be playing. No word on hi...
