Tonight's performance helped Luongo lower his goals against average to 1.45 second only to Ottawa's Craig Anderson. Jannik Hansen and Kevin Bieksa each scored for Vancouver and Devin Setoguchi had the Wild's only goal....

An Embarrassment of Riches
Posted on 6 Jan 2012 by Matt Preston.
You know what the hardest thing about being a sports writer is? Covering a good team. Sounds odd, right? Look at it like this: The whole purpose of a position like this is to provide critical analysis of a given team or a given game. Critical analysis. And when things are going as well as they have been for the Boston Bruins, it is difficult to be critical. No one wants to read piece after piec...

It's the position that generally requires the most maturing before a player is able to make the jump. It also requires the most patience by everyone from the player himself, to management and coaching, all the way down to the fans. It's been a...

Surprise heroes, second round playoffs – thoughts, sights, sounds…

Out of nowhere, comes two unlikely potential playoff heroes… Michal Neuvirth and Dwayne Roloson. Neuvirth, a seemingly steady and technically efficient goalie, is facing 29.6 shots/game. He can thank the Cap's shin pads for keeping that number under 30 shots/game. Roloson, an energetic and somewhat spastic net minder, has seen over 36 shots/game - but he has been equally as im...

Cue The Comeback, Chicago!
Posted on 19 Apr 2011 by Anna Santiago.
Well it was a bit of a mess towards the end of the game, referee-wise, but all that mattered in the end was that the Blackhawks' post-season journey did not end tonight on home ice. Patrick Sharp Scored twice to help his team demolish the Vancouver Cauncks in a critical Game 4. The first period was no indicator of what was to come. At the end of 20, it could have been anybody's game, really. Th...
