Bombers Win Bullpen Battle
Posted on 16 Oct 2010 by Stephanie Geosits.
No one saw that coming. CC Sabathia gave up five early runs and the Yankees trailed for most of the game, but true to form, the Bombers rallied as the Texas bullpen imploded in the eighth. Down 5-1, following a Robinson Cano solo homer in the seventh, Brett Gardner started off with an infield single the next inning. From then on, Ron Washington wore a path to the mound changing pitchers. C.J. W...

Tale of Two Teams
Posted on 28 Jun 2010 by Dave Leonardis.
For Dodgers manager Joe Torre, it was a trip down memory lane. The great Mariano Rivera on the mound with the ball and the lead, looking to close the door. The problem for Torre, however, was that this time he would be on the receiving end of Mo's magic instead of the benefactor. There needs to be no recap of the previous two games between the Dodgers and Yankees. Tonight's epic 10-inning battl...

Whatever, Joe Morgan

Currently the Yankees sit two games behind the Rays and three ahead of the Red Sox in the AL East. They can win their 11th straight against the Orioles tonight and life is good in the Bronx. But what I really want to talk about is Robinson Cano. Cano is batting a ridiculous .376 headed into Thursday night. In his sixth season with New York, he sports a .312 lifetime average, 963 hits and 99 hom...

Kevin Russo Who?

It's not a knock knock joke, folks! It's one of many new faces in different places in the Yankees lineup. What to say about the Bombers recently? They're up! They're down! Mo blows two saves in a row and then saves two in one day. Despite the rollercoaster ride this season, they've closed within 2.5 games of the Rays and have stayed a game ahead of the Jays. Old Man Pettitte (he's not really th...

Red Sox Hover at .500, Stealing a Game From New York
Posted on 19 May 2010 by "Baseball Brenda" Sepanek.
The Red Sox are in the middle of a 13-day stretch in which they play 11 games on the road. Monday they stopped in New York for a quick 2 game series. Wait, “quick” is probably not the best choice of words when describing a Sox vs Yankee game. The Daisuke Matsuzaku we all know and hate was back in action. He got our hopes up last week when he threw one of his best games as a Red Sox....

Red Sox were lost in the lights Friday Night

Last night's opening series game against the Tampa Bay Rays, was quite eventful considering the low score. The crazy part is the game is not over! The rain is back in Boston and should be here all weekend. Last night's game-time temperature was 41 degrees. It was Josh Beckett vs Wade Davis. They both pitched gems but they will have to wait until tonight to find out the outcome of the game. In t...

Red Sox drop opening series; but win first series on the road
Posted on 12 Apr 2010 by "Baseball Brenda" Sepanek.
Week one of the 2010 season is in the books. The Red Sox are 3-3 on the season. They dropped 2 out of 3 to the Yankees. You can always count on a Sox/Yankee game to take at least 4 hours and they didn't let us down. Tuesday and Wednesday's games lasted 3:46 and 3:48, respectively. It's no secret these games take forever. The fans have accepted it, but evidently the umpires haven't. Umpire Joe W...
