Skins Ends Preseason with Big Win over Bucs 30-3
Posted on 30 Aug 2012 by Mercedes Green.
The Redskins and Bucs rested all their starters last night making for an all out 2nd, 3rd and 4th teamer showdown for the final roster spots. The only starter for the Redskins was newly acquired kicker Billy Cundiff of the Ravens, after Graham Gano was cut on Tuesday, who made 3 out of 4 fields goals. That didn’t stop the fans from booing his missed one (which was only 46 yards). “...

Redskins Take On Bears
Posted on 17 Aug 2012 by Mercedes Green.
The Washington Redskins travel to Soldier Field to take on the Chicago Bears for week 2 of preseason. This is an 8PM EST Sat night start. The Redskins are experiencing their infamous training camp injuries and have already lost NT Chris Neild and WR Darius Hanks to the IR, but have signed free agent Marlon Favorite to help vacate the empty slot. The biggest issues? Injuries and the offensive ...

Redskins End Season Last in NFC East
Posted on 2 Jan 2012 by Mercedes Green.
No surprise here. The Redskins were blasted by Vick's 3 TDs in the 4th quarter to be beaten 34-10. Maybe the Skins would fair better if there were only 3 quarters as they consistently lose steam in the 4th. What Shanahan has been doing over the last few weeks where it's clear there were no playoff hopes was to put players in, that normally wouldn't see any play time in the regular season, s...

Redskins Almost Knock Off Patriots…Almost
Posted on 12 Dec 2011 by Mercedes Green.
I was tempted to skip watching the game yesterday. The Redskins with all their injuries and suspended players playing the TD happy New England Patriots, I thought why put myself through that? For you and this blog if why and I’m glad I did. It was a great game. The New England Patriot’s defense is the worst and it showed by allowing over 400 yards in offense to the struggling Redskins...

Skins Blown Over in 4th Quarter
Posted on 5 Dec 2011 by Mercedes Green.
These are the games that really annoy me. The Redskins scored a touchdown on their opening drive and they seemed to be doing well (8 plays, 82 yards). The Jets scored a TD as well, but did so in 9 minutes. That would be the only score for both in the 1st quarter. The running game seemed solid for the 1st quarter. They could have won this game no problem. In the 2nd quarter, the Skins ...

Fantasy Week 13 Start’ems
Posted on 2 Dec 2011 by David Willow.
Last week of the regular season in fantasy for most leagues and if you're a team on the cusp this week begins your fantasy playoffs. Here are some names to look at as you choose your line ups. Quarterbacks Matthew Stafford – Stafford looked bad on Thanksgiving, but with a game against the red hot Saints he sure to have to throw the ball a ton with the Saints likely making it a high scor...

Eagles vs. Seahawks: Something’s Gotta Give
Posted on 30 Nov 2011 by Christopher Rowe.
Should anyone try to tell you that this Thursday Night game between Philadelphia and Seattle holds any meaning for anyone not working for NFL Network, it might be difficult to believe them. While the Philadelphia Eagles have often performed their best in December under Andy Reid – this is also a franchise with a 61-51 record under Reid since Super Bowl XXXIX. Philadelphia enters December with...

Fantasy Week 13 Waivers
Posted on 28 Nov 2011 by David Willow.
We're coming down to the final stretch before the fantasy playoffs begin, and pick'ens a very slim. Though there are always a few gems that could help make or break your fantasy playoff run. Week 13 top waiver pick ups. Roy Helu – Finally, Mike Shanahan has declared Helu the starter and seemingly stuck to it. Given the bulk of the touches out of the Redskins' backfield, Helu 108 yards on ...

Seahawks falter in the face of late Redskin rally
Posted on 28 Nov 2011 by Erik Olsoy.
Everything seemed to be going smoothly for the Seahawks. After a touchdown pass from Tarvaris Jackson to Golden Tate made the score 17-7 with under ten minutes left in the 4th quarter, I assumed that the game was over. The Redskins, however, made an improbable and somewhat miraculous comeback. The Redskins pieced together a drive that ended on a stunning run by rookie running back Roy Helu....

Too Little Too Late

I actually thought they had something going after the very first play: 16 yard run by Roy Helu. However, that running game would not continue. The struggling Redskin offense was in full affect and I will not accept “injuries” as the cause for the following reasons: Dropped passes: If you are not injured, you should not drop multiple passes. Brandon Banks, Fred Davis and Roy Helu...

Torain or Hightower?
Posted on 12 Oct 2011 by Mercedes Green.
Ryan Torain or Tim Hightower? That is the question of the week for these 2 Redskin RBs. I just checked the NFL's player stats by position and was elated to see Ryan Torain sitting at the #1 spot. Torain has only started 1 game in week 3, after suffering a broken hand during training camp, and is already a power house. Skins fans can remember last year (I know it's painful to think about...
