Fantasy Week 8 Start’ems
Posted on 28 Oct 2011 by David Willow.
It's week 8 all you fantasy nuts out there. The halfway-ish point of the season, and hopefully your pushing onward to ladder half with a competitive team who won't be denied your “Manifest Destiny” as you continue towards the coasts of playoff glory. Let's look at week 8 start'ems. Quarterbacks Eli Manning – Manning had 4 missed TDs from last week to just Mario Manningham, so...

Fantasy Week 8 Waivers
Posted on 24 Oct 2011 by David Willow.
More injuries to talk about as the season rolls on. First off, Tim Hightower suffered a torn ACL this Sunday, despite Hightower's suggestions to the contrary. Fellow Redskins teammate, Santana Moss, suffered a fractured hand and will miss 5-7 weeks. Beanie Wells suffered an unknown, as of yet, knee injury that has Cardinals staff and fantasy owners spooked. No news as of yet, but all signs are ...

Fantasy Week 6 Start’ems
Posted on 14 Oct 2011 by David Willow.
Week 6 is here and we are almost halfway through the season. In fantasy's week to week battles, some teams are rising to the top while some are falling. I leave out some of the obvious starters here AP, Brady, Foster, etc., and highlight some of the less heralded players or players with question marks, though I'll admit sometimes I just want to go “Yeah you should start Megatron!” (...

Rested Redskins Take On Falling Eagles
Posted on 14 Oct 2011 by Mercedes Green.
If any team needs a bye week it’s the Philadelphia Eagles. I thought our “100 million dollar man” was bad but Michael Vick throwing 4 picks last week is just crazy. Even with the Redskins on their bye last week they have made it into the Top 10 Power Poll on NFL.com and are sitting pretty at #1 in the NFC East. I have put it out of my mind the last time the Redskins met the Eagles in we...

Torain or Hightower?
Posted on 12 Oct 2011 by Mercedes Green.
Ryan Torain or Tim Hightower? That is the question of the week for these 2 Redskin RBs. I just checked the NFL's player stats by position and was elated to see Ryan Torain sitting at the #1 spot. Torain has only started 1 game in week 3, after suffering a broken hand during training camp, and is already a power house. Skins fans can remember last year (I know it's painful to think about...

Fantasy Week 5 Waivers
Posted on 4 Oct 2011 by David Willow.
Another week another injury, but thankfully this week's group of unfortunates haven't continued the trend of season ending injuries. The most notable injuries have been to Andre Johnson, who looked to have a major injury to his leg, but later reports suggested it was minor hamstring injury that will keep him out for around 2-3 weeks. The Steelers' Rashard Mendenhall was also hindered by a hamst...

Redskins Go Into Bye Week 3-1 with Win Against Winless Rams
Posted on 3 Oct 2011 by Mercedes Green.
The Washington Redskins did what they had to do with a dominant running game and beat the Rams 17-10. The Redskins were extremely rough a few times with a couple hits on defenseless Ram players on the return, but luckily for them it was only 15 yards and no fines (yet). They really should consider fair catch signals. No excuses though for the way they hit. The defense did get 6 sacks on S...

Buffone Fantasy Football Guide RBs 31-35: Digging Deep
Posted on 27 Jul 2011 by John Buffone.
As we continue on through the ranks of running backs, it's come to the point where research matters and you must pick accordingly to what player best fits your team. There will still be some backs left that will certainly put up average numbers if you need to solidify your team. However, if you already have your stud core of players, there are some high risk/high reward players available. ...

Redskins Release Portis
Posted on 28 Feb 2011 by Mercedes Green.
This isn't really surprising, but the Washington Redskins have released RB Clinton Portis after 7 years. Portis has had some great years with the Redskins but has also seen multiple injuries from knew to concussions. The Redskins last year did start with 3 strong veteran RBs, but injures and poor performance saw the emergence of Ryan Torain and Keiland Williams, who have become the Skins'...

It’s Fantasy Championship Time
Posted on 21 Dec 2010 by David Willow.
Another week, another group of top tier duds. Let's extend a thanks out to Arian Foster and Adrian Peterson for letting us down at the worst time in fantasy. Peyton Hillis also failed to reach the end zone once again. However, some of our less heralded players like LeGarrette Blount, Ryan Torain, and Mike Williams (TB) put up decent lines for the week. Some players have had some injuries pop up...

Redskins Cowboys Tied for Last Place in NFC East
Posted on 20 Dec 2010 by Mercedes Green.
The Washington Redskins, in true Skins drama, lost by a FG to the Dallas Cowboys. At one point, the Skins were down 20 points, but the offense managed to tie the game within a couple minutes of the 4th quarter. And in more Redskins drama, QB Donovan McNabb was benched and Rex Grossman started. This has made many people fire back at Shanahan because they feel McNabb was not respected, but ...
