Bombers Prepare for Labour Day Classic
Posted on 2 Sep 2010 by Jim Penner.
It’s been very quiet for the past 12 days in Bomberville. The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have been taking advantage of their bye week and most of the players have had a week off from football. The team returned to practice Tuesday in preparation for the annual Labour Day Massacre in Regina. Saskatchewan will be quite ornery as they look to put a poor showing in Saturday’s loss to Edmonton be...

Lions Tamed By RoughRiders
Posted on 13 Aug 2010 by Terry Beisick.
Hello all, and long time no talk!! I am back after a lengthy hospital stay, which I can assure you was not fun! The B.C. Lions did not have much fun Thursday night either, as they were coming into a charged up Taylor fie….er Mosaic stadium, where on this day the Riders could not lose! It was the Annual Hall of Fame game. This year's inductee list includes one of the greatest Rider recie...

Stampeders Offense Wakes Up!
Posted on 26 Jul 2010 by Shane Hoopfer.
Well if it wasn't for a couple poor decisions by members of the Stampeders offense this game would not have been as close as the 40-20 score showed. The (3-1) Calgary Stampeders absolutely dominated the (3-1) Saskatchewan Roughriders in front of a sellout crowd of 35,650 at McMahon Stadium, sending a good 10,000+ Roughriders fans home miserable. Very rarely do you play a game where you can say ...

Stamps Victorious After Strong Second Half
Posted on 26 Jul 2010 by Brad Slater.
When head coach John Hufnagel took to the dressing room at halftime, one must wonder what was said. Whatever it was it worked because the Stampeders came out for the second half and played perfect football. Henry Burris looked like the Henry of old and Romby Bryant no longer dropped balls. The two headed monster that is John Cornish and Joffrey Reynolds ran all over the Riders Defence on their ...

Time To See How Good The Stamps Are!

Calgary Stampeders fans get ready to defend home soil! The Green Riders are coming to town. As most fans know McMahon Stadium is a second home to the Saskatchewan Roughriders and their fans. You can be assured that the stands will be about 50/50 with Stamps and Riders fans. The (3-0) Saskatchewan Roughriders are rolling, and their offense has been lights out so far this season leading the leagu...

World War 3

The stage is set for this Saturday night as the 3-0 Riders head to McMahon Stadium to battle the 2-1 Stamps. So much has been made about the players and the game but the real story is the fans. Rider Nation will be flocking to McMahon wearing and waving their green proudly while Stampeder fan will try and stand their ground. This is the one game of the year where the Stampeders seem like their ...

Stamps Implode! Lose 27-24
Posted on 16 Jul 2010 by Shane Hoopfer.
Well that was a mess if you are a Calgary Stampeders fan. The Stampeders managed to overcome some insanely stupid penalties and poor field position in the first half with a couple timely goal line stands to keep the team in it. Amazingly the Stamps defense held all first half and somehow the Toronto Argonauts only had a 13-10 lead at the half. Roll on to the third quarter and Henry Burris showe...

“Green is the colour…..football is the game……..we're all together…and winning is our aim…….” Happy Canada Day to all!! Especially for those clad in green and white!! I do not know how you could possibly start a CFL season any better than what took place on ol' Taylor Field….ummm Mosaic stadium today! A shoot out it was indeed. Big plays, hig...

The Alouettes lose in a thriller against the Roughriders
Posted on 1 Jul 2010 by Chris G.
The Montreal Alouettes lost 54 to 51 in OT to the Saskatchewan Roughriders in a game that may be tagged “Game of the Year” for the 2010 season. What a way to kick off the 2010 CFL season! The Roughriders came out strong early in the 1st Quarter intercepting Anthony Calvillo's first pass, which led to a Roughrider field goal. On the first offensive play of the second drive for the Al...

Q1 15:00- The CFL season is underway in hot and humid Saskatchewan! Enjoy the game everybody. Q1 14:32 – Not the start that AC was hoping for Q1 12:28- Saskatchewan capitalizes on the turnover by kicking a FG and take a 3-0 lead Q1 7:30- The running game seems better then the passing game to start off the game. Q1 6:45- And just like that; a 39-yard TD pass from AC to Watkins to give the...

Alouettes get the season started !
Posted on 30 Jun 2010 by Chris G.
The Alouettes kick off the 2010 CFL season on Canada day facing the Saskatchewan Roughriders in the rematch of last season's Grey Cup matchup in which the Alouettes came up victorious. For the people that missed that game, I will post a link to video highlights at the end of the article. Not many surprises in the Alouettes roster, but the injury bug seems to be in the air. Coach Trestman confi...

Riders Stomped By Stamps
Posted on 20 Jun 2010 by Terry Beisick.
Happy Fathers Day! To wrap up the preaseason, and a busy fathers day, i will keep it short and sweet, something the Riders wish they could have done today! The Riders preseason games in the past have been like a gruesome car wreck, so why deviate from the formula? Well it certainly has been status quo once again this year. First a “just going through the motions” opening loss...
