Posted on 15 Jun 2011 by Warren Shaw.
Dwight Howard made a bold statement this week while in Italy fulfilling requirements of his contract with Adidas at their Eurocamp. The Magic's franchise player stated that he will NOT sign a contract extension this season and he WILL test the free agent market next summer. Circle the wagons, ring the alarm, stop start the press! Howard graciously took the time to discuss his future with Scott ...

After the Fall: Kings’ Next Step
Posted on 20 Apr 2011 by Eric Cooney.
I said last night that the Kings suffered the most devastating loss in their history in game 3 against the Sharks. Now, there's hope in that statement. Why, you ask? First, it wasn't the most devastating collapse in NHL history. In retrospect, it wasn't even the most devastating collapse I've witnessed in my hockey history. That would be Edmonton in game 1 of the 2006 Finals. Up 3-0...

Atlanta limps into the postseason
Posted on 11 Apr 2011 by John Morgo.
About a week ago, I was happy with the Hawks for beating Boston at home. It was a statement win, something that had been lacking all season. What a different a week makes. Since that landmark win, the Hawks have been limping their way through the rest of the schedule. The latest pockmark was a 98-90 loss to Miami. That makes a five game losing streak with the regular season finale looming again...

How many times do you hear the saying “If the playoffs started today” followed by some random statement as a basketball fan? Well if the playoffs did start today the Boston Celtics are finally looking like a team that would be ready. After dispensing of the Detroit Pistons on Sunday 101-90, Team Green got a chance to test their skills against their potential first round opponent in the Phil...

Floyd To Return to School
Posted on 12 Jan 2011 by Jordan Lauterbach.
He's back! He's back! He's back. In a move that few expected after Floyd's outstanding freshman season, the star wide receiver will be returning for his senior season. This comes as another one of the many great things to happen to Notre Dame football in the last 2 months. It's clear that the program is on the fast track to getting back to the BCS. This sure helps, especially with Kyle Rudolpg...

The Washington Redskins have suspended Albert Haynesworth without pay for the next 4 games. The following is the official statement from head coach Mike Shanahan: “Despite the club’s numerous attempts to persuade Albert Haynesworth to abide by the terms of his contract, he has repeatedly refused to cooperate with our coaching staff in a variety of ways over an extended period of time. Amo...

Notre Dame Links – Thursday
Posted on 21 Oct 2010 by Jordan Lauterbach.
A comment appeared on one of my past posts citing how different this Notre Dame team has looked on Brian Kelly, compared to Charlie Weis. Boy, what a difference a few weeks makes. Wasn't it just a few weeks ago that readers were talking about how similar this Notre Dame team looked to the Charlie Weis years? Opinions in College Football, more then any other sport, change on a dime. I think this...

Your Mom was wrong, Giants get rocked by Colts.
Posted on 20 Sep 2010 by Dennis Napoliello.
If you have a brother (either older or younger) and you are reading this blog, you probably have heard this statement before, “You better watch out, when your brother grows up and gets as big as you, he is going to get you.” This kind of statement or some variation of it has been heard for years from those Mom's who have warned older siblings to take it easy on their younger bro...

Iron Clad UPDATE
Posted on 19 Apr 2010 by Ron Burr.
Well, that was interesting. Cal decided to speak up in regards to the rumors swirling from the Ken Rosenthal article from the other day (a link to the Rosenthal piece, as well as my take on the whole thing as it exploded onto the scene can be found HERE). For those who may have missed it, here is the text from the statement: “In my baseball experience, rumors and stories seem to break ...
