ASU vs. Washington St: Home Is Where the Heart Is?
Posted on 28 Oct 2010 by Leslie Charles.
This Saturday marks the Arizona State Sun Devils' Homecoming, in more ways than one. Not only will thousands of ASU alum be flooding the streets of Tempe to visit their alma mater, but the game versus the Washington State Cougars is the return of the Sun Devils to their home stadium after 4 weeks and 3 games away. The Sun Devils return with a mere 3-4 record (1-3 Pac-10). The ups and down...

Arizona State Falls Flat in Berkeley
Posted on 25 Oct 2010 by Leslie Charles.
This wasn't what Arizona State needed. After a convincing win versus Washington, a bye week, and an amazing week of practice in Tempe, this wasn't what we expected from the Sun Devils. And this definitely doesn't help anyone to believe this ASU team will be any different from the last few years. From start to finish the Sun Devils were FLAT in every since of the word. Steven Threet couldn...

ASU vs. Washington Game Recap
Posted on 10 Oct 2010 by Leslie Charles.
Finally a solid win from the Devils. ASU fans have been waiting for that for weeks, and if they caught the game, they were not disappointed. This was the game I had been waiting to see from ASU against the last few opponents. They got out of their own way by minimizing turnovers and penalties, and not surprisingly they were able to salvage their season, and bowl hopes, in the process. Tho...

Arizona vs. Oregon State Preview
Posted on 6 Oct 2010 by Henry Childs.
Coming off a bye week, the Arizona Wildcats host an Oregon State team that has shown a lot of inconsistency thus far this season. But with a win, Arizona can move to 5-0, 2-0 in the Pac-10, and put themselves in a very good position to make a statement to the rest of the conference. There are many “keys” to the game, if you will, but none other than Nick Foles’ ability to succeed against ...

Pac-10 Wrap-up: Oregon’s the Favorite, but Plenty of other Contenders
Posted on 3 Oct 2010 by Henry Childs.
What an exciting weekend of Pac-10 football. Despite Arizona and California having the week off, the conference produced four very solid games, led by none other than the gigantic top-10 matchup between Oregon and Stanford, as well as a sight very familiar to last year’s game that pitted Washington against USC. First, let’s start with UCLA handling Washington State at home, 42-28. Once agai...

ASU vs OSU Preview
Posted on 30 Sep 2010 by Leslie Charles.
ASU has been teasing us these last two weeks. Against two very capable ranked opponents in Wisconsin and Oregon respectively, the Sun Devils have played 6 quarters of great football. The Devils defense held both teams to well below their season averages and kept each team off the field for significant amounts of time. However in two games 8 quarters of football must be played. And unfor...

While Arizona Rests, the Pac-10 Will Shine
Posted on 30 Sep 2010 by Henry Childs.
With Arizona having the week off, I thought it would be interesting to take a look at the other Pac-10 matchups for this weekend. While the Wildcats relax, here’s a quick peek at this weeks conference games. Washington State (1-3) at UCLA (2-2) After losing it’s opening game to Kansas State and getting blown out at home against Stanford, UCLA looks like a completely different team. Two week...

Ducks get Past Tough Sun Devils
Posted on 26 Sep 2010 by Ryan Frank.
The #5 Oregon Ducks went into Tempe on Saturday and capitalized on 7 Sun Devil Turnovers and grabbed a 42-31 victory. It was Oregon's first Pac-10 victory and they are now 4-0 on the season. Oregon's offense wasn't exactly what it has been for the first 3 games of the season but they got the job done. Oregon's Defense is what kept them ahead in the game, although giving up 597 yards to the Sun ...

#5 Ducks Escape Sun Devils Heat 42-31
Posted on 26 Sep 2010 by Rob Parness.
The 5th ranked Ducks may have gotten away with a 42-31 victory in Tempe, but it was no easy task. The normally dominant Oregon Duck offense was in large part ineffective Saturday night against an inspired Arizona State defense. On the other side of the ball the Ducks defense performed the self-imposed “bend but don’t break” mantra that has come to characterize their unit. At times Arizona...

Pac-10 Preview: Oregon vs Arizona State
Posted on 25 Sep 2010 by Leslie Charles.
This is a big weekend for ASU. Against the nation’s leader in offense, Oregon, ASU has a chance to prove itself in a big way. Don’t get me wrong; this game is far from a game the Sun Devils are expected to win. Though this is a much different team than the last couple of seasons, Oregon is not only the top dog in the Pac-10 currently, they’re also one of the top teams in the entire ...

Ducks look to bring their own heat to Tempe
Posted on 23 Sep 2010 by Ryan Frank.
The Ducks are finally ready for the Pac-10 Season to begin. Oregon is coming off another big win after punishing Portland State 69-0 last Saturday at Autzen Stadium. Although the Vikings weren't exactly a worthy opponent, they were only on the schedule due to a change by Central Michigan. The Ducks are coming into Saturdays game in Tempe averaging an outstanding 63 Points a game and over 611 ya...

Ducks to try and stay hot against Arizona State
Posted on 22 Sep 2010 by Rob Parness.
As the fifth-ranked Oregon Ducks begin league play, you can’t help but be impressed with what they have done to this point. Of all of the crazy statistics that have been recorded to date, I have picked my two favorite. Through 3 games the Ducks have scored 28 touchdowns while only allowing 1. There are some teams out there that won’t score 28 times all year (Washington State?) But the figur...
