Boston Bruins Are Back, Better Than Ever
Posted on 30 Jan 2013 by Michael Thibault.
5-0-1. 11 points. Needless to say, the Boston Bruins are off to a hot start which is much needed in this shortened season. The Bruins came away with another win last night in a shootout, which nearly could have been a loss thanks to a drunk Bruins fan throwing a bottle at Hedberg during Tyler Seguin's first shot. Last night was the first game this season that I think the Bruins were actually ou...

The B's will host the Toronto Maple Leafs tomorrow at the TD Garden as they head for the final stretch of the season. With 11 games remaining, the Bruins find themselves 10 points behind Eastern Conference leader New York Rangers. While the Bruins aren't quite out of the race for the top spot, the Penguins ...

The one that got away…Miami defeats Boston 98-90 in OT
Posted on 10 May 2011 by Warren Shaw.
The Boston Celtics knew that they needed to win Game 4 to make Game 3′s win more than just cosmetic. For the better part of Game 4 it looked like Boston would be heading back to South Beach with a 2-2 tie in the series. Looks would again prove to be deceiving as another 4th quarter offensive drought would seal the Celtics fate in a 98-90 loss in over time. The Miami Heat's 3 superstars ...

Angels not lacking, even in the face of the monster
Posted on 5 May 2011 by Bill Mahoney.
Oh I was mad. 30 games in to the season, and I was fuming. Are the Angels scared of the Boston Red Sox. They lost 4 straight home games to the Sox, and had lost their first 2 in Bean town. Scared was the only word that came to mind. It reminded me being in high school and being nervous around girls. Things that would normally be easy, became unbelievably hard. The Angels pounded out 13 hits in ...

Angels see Red—-Sox again
Posted on 22 Apr 2011 by Bill Mahoney.
I hate the Red Sox. From bad deals with them in the 70′s, to Dave Henderson in 1986, to their complete domination of the Halos throughout the playoffs and most regular seasons. No matter who is wearing that uniform, they play better once they play against the Angels. I just wasn't happy to see the Angels, coming off a tough 3 game set against their division rivals from Texas, have to come...

Blood Drips, Bodies Fly, and the Knicks Lose
Posted on 22 Mar 2011 by Daniel Sailofsky.
I didn’t catch the entire Knicks-Celts game tonight, but from what I saw, this one was not for the faint at heart. This game was reminiscent of those extremely competitive, if a bit bloody, playoff series’ between the Knicks and Heat in the 90’s. Troy Murphy left with a bloody nose, Big Baby Davis got caught with a Carmelo Anthony elbow to the head, and Ray Allen was forced to briefly lea...

What’s Been Missing
Posted on 18 Jan 2011 by Warren Shaw.
With the Celtics seeking Christmas Day revenge against the Orlando Magic, Kevin Garnett returned from a nine game absence in a rematch with the Magic on MLK. Orlando probably wishes KG sat out one more as he was in vintage form finishing with 19pts, 8rebs, and 2stls. That last steal was potentially game saving and the Celtics defeated the Magic 109-106. The Celtics shot 60% in a seesaw affair t...

Tough Luck Tuukka Falls Again
Posted on 16 Dec 2010 by Matt Preston.
It’s a good thing when your team has a starting goaltender who is first in the league in goals against average (1.51) and save percentage (.954), tied for first in shutouts (5) and tied for sixth in wins (14). It is even better when you can spell such stellar play with a 23-year old backup entering his second year in the NHL who ranks sixth in the league in save percentage (.927) and carries ...
