Tigers Edge Red Raiders
Posted on 10 Mar 2011 by Nate Jacobson.
It may have not been pretty, but a win is a win. The Missouri Tigers defeated the Texas Tech Red Raiders in the first round of the Big 12 tournament 88-84 on Wednesday night in Kansas City. The victory snaps the Tigers three game winless streak as they attempt to gain some form of momentum before the NCAA tournament. Both teams started the contest out on fire offensively, which made it feel lik...

If you like high scoring basketball then Mizzou Arena was the place to be on Tuesday night. The Missouri Tigers (20-6, 6-5 Big 12) defeated the Texas Tech Red Raiders (11-15, 3-8) 92-84 in a fast paced shootout. Wildcats Bounce Back at Home
Posted on 15 Jan 2011 by Shaun Albin.
Struggling out of the gate in Big 12 play, the Wildcats needed a big win at home against Texas Tech. They got every bit of that with a 94-60 manhandling of the Red Raiders in Curtis Kelly’s return to action. Kansas State opened the day with a dominant string of events that really set the tone for today’s game. Jake Pullen broke Texas Tech’s zone defense with early treys and the Wildca...

ANOTHER BOWL GAME, ANOTHER TOUGH LOSS FOR THE ‘CATS
Posted on 2 Jan 2011 by Ben Chiswick.
Well, it was a tough end to a tough year. During the regular season, the Northwestern Wildcats rose as high as 7-3 with a signature win against a top-15 opponent. But the inability to hold big leads against Michigan State and Penn State followed by a season-ending injury to First Team All Big-Ten quarterback Dan Persa led to a relatively disappointing finish at 7-5 overall and just 3-5 – tied...

GOING BOWLING IN DALLAS
Posted on 30 Dec 2010 by Ben Chiswick.
Bowl season is upon us. For the Northwestern Wildcats, that means a chance to play on New Year’s Day. Never mind that the Ticket City Bowl isn’t exactly dripping with prestige. The Cotton Bowl Stadium in Dallas is a historic venue with a lot of tradition. Over the years, it has hosted more college bowl games than any venue other than the Rose Bowl. And the bottom line is this: Heading into ...

THE ‘CATS LAND IN THE COTTON BOWL… BUT NOT THAT COTTON BOWL
Posted on 10 Dec 2010 by Ben Chiswick.
I have to start off this blog with an apology. I know that I’m quite late in the game. Bowl match-ups were announced nearly a week ago and my dubious expertise was conspicuously absent. I would like to think I had a pretty good excuse, though. The day before the Northwestern Wildcats learned of their bowl destination, my wife and I witnessed the birth of our first child. I have since learned ...

Buffalo’s Can’t Hang on to Late Lead, Fall to Texas Tech 27-24
Posted on 24 Oct 2010 by Matthew Stiles.
The passing game was a double edged sword for CU (3-4, 0-3) against the Texas Tech Red Raiders (4-4, 2-3). It is the reason the Buffs were able to build a ten point lead going into the fourth quarter but it ultimately cost them the game because they effectively abandoned the running game which would have been useful when they needed to chew up the clock to secure a much needed victory. But, the...

CU Looks for First Conference Win against Red Raiders
Posted on 21 Oct 2010 by Matthew Stiles.
Another week and another variation of the spread offense roles into Boulder as the high flying Texas Tech Red Raiders (3-3, 1-2) invade Folsom Field to take on the Colorado Buffalos (3-3, 0-2) in what is a must win game for both teams because each team needs to get to six wins to attain bowl eligibility. Each team has a tough remaining schedule that includes a trip to Norman, OK and as a result...

Oklahoma State v. Nebraska
Posted on 21 Oct 2010 by Joe O'Connell.
A week ago, if you asked me, I would have said that the Oklahoma State Cowboys could beat the Nebraska Cornhuskers, but it wouldn't be easy. Today, I say the Cowboys (6-0, 2-0), ranked No.14 in the initial BCS standings released earlier this week, should cruise to their seventh win this year with ease when they wplay host to Big 12 conference rival No. 16 Nebraska, (5-1, 1-1) on Saturday. Becau...

Two of the most productive passing offenses in the nation will meet Saturday afternoon when the No. 20 Oklahoma State Cowboys (5-0, 1-0) visit the Texas Tech Red Raiders (3-2, 1-2), as OK State hopes to bring its unbeaten streak this year to six straight games. The Cowboys are coming off a decisive 54-28 win last week against the Lousiana-Lafayette Ragin' Cajuns. The second best scoring offe...

Oklahoma St. vs Texas Tech Preview
Posted on 12 Oct 2010 by Corey Adams.
If you are familiar with the Big 12, or have even watched a game, then you know there are going to be points, and lots of them! It should be no different on October 16th, as the #20 Oklahoma State Cowboys (5-0) take on the Texas Tech Red Raiders (3-2). A win for Texas Tech here would be huge for them! Tech is currently 2nd to last in the Big 12 South division, and is in need of a conference wi...
