Devils Win; Prospect Shines for Canada
Posted on 29 Dec 2011 by Jordan DiRisio.
The Devils beat the Sabres with relative ease last night to get back on the winning track. After dropping 2 of 3 the Devils won against Buffalo 3-1 and if not for the strong play of Ryan Miller New Jersey could have scored 5 goals. Brodeur and the defensive was particularly impressive in their own zone and did a great job of minimizing quality scoring chances for the sabres. The Devils got 2 go...

Buffalo Sabres Summer Playbook
Posted on 30 Jun 2011 by George Kouvalis.
The ink may still be wet on the legal documents that Terry Pegula signed to take over the Buffalo Sabres, but one thing is for certain, he wants to put his stamp on his team and fast. Pegula is determined to bring a Stanley Cup to Buffalo and will spend away to make it happen if he has to. He has said he wants to win a cup with his core three of Ryan Miller, Tyler Myers and Thomas Vanek, ri...

Breaking Boston

The combination of Buffalo's home record of 6-9-1, and Buffalo's issues with finishing their scoring chances, are leaving many Buffalonians with a pessimistic outlook on tonight's game at HSBC Arena. The way that Buffalo can squeak one or two points out of tonight's game is by keeping gritty wingers like Milan Lucic out of the front of the net, using the body on softer “pass first” ...

Somebody Save Me
Posted on 5 Dec 2010 by Mika Oehling.
It was all about making saves last night as Miller and Elliott shined in a narrow 1-0 win by the Buffalo Sabres in a shootout. Miller is well-known in the league for being one of the best, if not THE best, goaltender in the league. Brian Elliott, for his part, is an emerging goaltender who has yet to be claimed the number one for Ottawa, but he proved to be up to par in last night's game with a...

Sudden Death Sabres
Posted on 16 Nov 2010 by George Kouvalis.
What more can you say about the Buffalo Sabres right now. The Sabres have been to extra time in the past five games and have finally won a game on home ice after going winless at the HSBC Arena in their first seven contests. The reason for all this is a couple of factors. First off Jhonas Enroth. Enroth came into the starters role after All World Goalie Ryan Miller went down with an injur...

Sabres off to a poor start
Posted on 18 Oct 2010 by George Kouvalis.
Maybe Lindy Ruff is finally on the hot seat in Buffalo. The Buffalo Sabres have started their 2010-2011 NHL season off and suffice to say it hasn't been a good so far. With a chance to get off to a great start as four of their first six games in the season were at home, the others in Ottawa and Chicago, the Sabres didn't take advantage. The Sabres are off to a 1-4-1, including 0-3-1 at ...

Sabres Drop the Curtain
Posted on 8 Oct 2010 by William Brouillette.
Tonight is the night! The 2010-2011 kicks off with a game in Kanata versus the Sabres blood rival: the Ottawa Senators. What better way to start the season then a game against a truly despised enemy, eh? Can game 1 of 82 be a vitally important game? Absolutely! Why? The Senators have handed the Sabres their lunch, breakfast, and dinner since the Sabres punked them and shocked the world in the...

BUFFALO SABRES PREVIEW
Posted on 13 Sep 2010 by George Kouvalis.
The 40th season of Sabres hockey in Buffalo kicks off this fall and already the Sabres and their fans cannot wait. By the first week of October the Bills will all but be eliminated from post season contention in the NFL, thus the sports landscape in Buffalo will shift to the Sabres, and deservedly so. Last year the Sabres came off yet another Division Title but suffered another Buffalo-esque ...

Bruins / Sabres – LIVE G6
Posted on 26 Apr 2010 by Jim Mulligan.
Back at it tonight where the Bruins look to close out the Sabres. They will need a much better effort than what they showed Friday night. But you have to credit the Sabres for Friday as well. They blocked over 25 shots and clogged the passing lanes with great stickwork. Thomas Vanek did take warmups and expect him in the bad guy line up. No signs of Marc Savard for the good guys Starting lineup...

Thrashers Continue To Play Spoiler
Posted on 2 Apr 2009 by Casey Shea.
What' that old saying? “If I'm going down, I'm taking you with me,” is it? The Atlanta Thrashers appear to be improving every day and I'm starting to get excited already for next season to see if this team is actually making strides in the right direction or not. Last night's 3-2 overtime win over the Buffalo Sabres might just seal the deal on Buffalo'...
