Rolling Thunder: Northwest Division Preview
Posted on 26 Oct 2012 by Warren Shaw.
A very talented division that features the Western Conference champion Oklahoma City Thunder, the Northwest Division is one of the league's best. Its going to be a race for second place with OKC as the undisputed favorites. The Timberwolves made the most personnel changes in the division while the Nuggets, Jazz, and Blazers all made minor upgrades and hope to build on chemistry with another yea...

Late surge is not enough, as the Cavs fall to the Jazz
Posted on 5 Mar 2012 by marcus_sr.
In the first half the Cavs struggled mightily to produce points in the paint and rebound the rock. The rebound and points in the paint numbers are a direct result of the outcome of the first half. Utah outscored the Cavs 30 to 18 for points in the paint and out-rebounded the Cavs 31 to 18, the numbers are basically identical. Adding to their poor first half play, they shot a miserable 34% from ...

Hornets Go Streaking
Posted on 16 Feb 2012 by Jarred LeBlanc.
Victories have been hard to come by for the New Orleans Hornets this season. But when the final buzzer sounded on last night’s 92-89 victory against the Milwaukee Bucks (12-17), the Hornets (6-23) had successfully extended their winning streak to two. A two-game winning streak does not seem like much of an accomplishment for a 66-game season, but the Hornets have not won back-to-back games si...

The Butler Did It, Hayward Lead Jazz Past Lakers
Posted on 6 Apr 2011 by Wilson Tarpeh Jr..
The Utah Jazz did what few people thought possible, they went into Los Angeles and beat the red-hot Lakers!! Utah was short-handed as has been the case most of the season, as Devin Harris missed another game due to an injury. Utah beat the Lakers 86-85 despite Andrew Bynum's big night on the boards, Bynum scored 12 points and pulled down 23 rebounds!!! Utah still out-rebounded the Lakers 52-4...

Waiting Game: How Long Until the Clippers are Relevant in the West?
Posted on 29 Mar 2011 by Taylor Smith.
By now, you're probably well aware of the Clippers' situation. They haven't appeared in the playoffs since the 2006 season, and won't be making a return trip this season. However, considering all the excitement, interest and attention that the team has been able to generate this season, you'd have to call 2010-11 an absolute success, right? So, with all of this young talent and seemingly limitl...

Jazz Go Up Big, Force OT and Win
Posted on 15 Mar 2011 by Wilson Tarpeh Jr..
WOW, that's the word I'm going to use to describe the game between the Utah Jazz and the Philadelphia 76ers. The Jazz looked like they had this thing won early in the 2nd half, they were up by as much as 21!!! Then the 76ers STORMED back into the game and even appeared to have it won down the stretch in regulation. If it weren't for CJ Miles, the Jazz would have lost this game and would have ha...

Love’s Streak Continues as Wolves Drop Jazz
Posted on 11 Mar 2011 by Wilson Tarpeh Jr..
Things aren't getting better for the Utah Jazz, they have new pieces, a new coach, and tonight they got BLASTED by the Minnesota Timberwolves 122-101!! The Wolves had only won 16 games coming into tonight's game, Utah gave them their 17th win. Utah got attacked right out of the gate, Minnesota had 39 points in the first quarter! Utah fought back to close the lead to 2, but the Wolves decided to...

Lakeshow Gives Jazz The Blues
Posted on 26 Jan 2011 by Arthur Kai.
After being labeled “long in the tooth” by the former Los Angeles Laker great Jerry West aka “The Logo”, the Lakeshow appeared to take a drink from the fountain of youth as they blasted the Utah Jazz 120-91. The Mamba set the tone early and often, leading the way on offense and defense, as he ended up with 21 points and 6 assists to lead a balanced attack. The front cour...

Lakers Find Fountain of Youth in 29 point Blowout of the Jazz
Posted on 26 Jan 2011 by Donovan Williams.
So the Lakers took care of business earlier this evening rather easily. For all the talk of the Lakers demise, the Lake show came out inspired and put this game in the win column early on. Great balance scoring by the Lakers. Kobe had 21, Gasol with 20, Bynum with 19 and Odom with 17. The Lakers had great ball movement too. 20 of the Lakers 24 first half field goals came with an assist. But wit...

Gimme 5
Posted on 22 Jan 2011 by Warren Shaw.
It wasn't supposed to be this easy. The Boston Celtics geared up for a match up with one of the Western Conference's best, the Utah Jazz. Instead they got one of Utah's worst efforts of the season and cruised to a 110-86 victory their 5th straight. The Utah Jazz leader and catalyst, Deron Williams, picked up two quick fouls and never got into the flow of the game. “I was ready to get out ther...

Sixers drop 2 in a row
Posted on 20 Jan 2011 by Kevin OHanlon.
After a 1 point loss in OT to the Orlando Magic the Sixers had an opportunity to get back on the winning road against a Bobcat's team that they just defeated Monday night. The Bobcats continued their winning ways at home with a 3 point win over the Sixers dropping the Sixers to 5-18 on the road and 17-25 over all. The Bobcats however would improve to 12-10 at home and 17-24 over all. The Phil...

Knick Links – Tuesday
Posted on 18 Jan 2011 by Jordan Lauterbach.
First thought after yesterday's loss to the Suns – “what's the excuse this time?” Not that the players were making it, they weren't – but the media was. The Utah loss last Wednesday was “well, they're looking ahead, they want to get home.” Ok, plausible The Kings loss on Friday – “Hey, long west coast swing! Of course they're going to come out fla...
