Wild defeat Canucks
Posted on 11 Mar 2013 by Jeff Heimerl.
Zach Parise scored twice and added an assist as the Wild defeated the Canucks for the first time this season Sunday night at the Xcel Energy Center. The 3 point night for Parise was the 25th of his career. The win moves the Wild into a first place tie with their division rivals. Niklas Backstom had 25 saves for the Wild, as the picked up their 4th straight home game. Jason Zucker and Jared...

Choices, Choices, Choices…
Posted on 14 Jun 2012 by Johnny G.
Now that the Stanley Cup Final is in the books and the Kings have hoisted the cup, all teams turn their attention to picks, trades, tweaks and CBA’s. Where does Jim Rutherford even start? To recap; Rutherford has stated his expectation to go after a top line forward as well as iron out the bottom six forwards. The Hurricanes have already committed to spending more money, how much? We will...

Possible Kings Trade Targets
Posted on 1 Feb 2012 by Eric Cooney.
Let's be honest, as Kings fans we all want to be buyers at the deadline, and not Fredrik Modin/Jeff Halpern buyers. We want to be big time buyers. Like, what-we-all-expected-Dustin-Penner-to-be buyers. We all know the Kings could use some offense, yet it's not always so easy to tell what Lombardi is going to do when it comes to acquiring players. However, if you twisted my arm I'd wager...

Kings Pending UFAs
Posted on 24 Jan 2012 by Eric Cooney.
The trade deadline is over a month away but trade talk is starting to heat up. Sellers like the Carolina Hurricanes have been moving pieces already, including former King Alexei Ponikarovsky, who is now a Devil. Barring some kind of epic meltdown, the Kings will most likely be buyers come the trade deadline. Later this week I'll take a look at the players, or type of player, the Kings mig...

Devils Win; Prospect Shines for Canada
Posted on 29 Dec 2011 by Jordan DiRisio.
The Devils beat the Sabres with relative ease last night to get back on the winning track. After dropping 2 of 3 the Devils won against Buffalo 3-1 and if not for the strong play of Ryan Miller New Jersey could have scored 5 goals. Brodeur and the defensive was particularly impressive in their own zone and did a great job of minimizing quality scoring chances for the sabres. The Devils got 2 go...

Devils Have a Big Showing on Scott Niedermayer Night
Posted on 17 Dec 2011 by Jordan DiRisio.
On Scott Niedermayer the Devils confirmed the suspicion that they're hot. The Devils retired the jersey of long time Defenseman Scott Niedermayer and with the Devils playing well there was a positive atmosphere at Prudential Center. But going into the game there was a little concern that Richard Bachman was playing so well he may stymie the Devils and ruin the night. This was not the case. Alth...

Devils Sweep in Florida Trip
Posted on 14 Dec 2011 by Jordan DiRisio.
The Devils were able to earn four points in their two games against Florida and Tampa Bay. The Devils strong offense and some weak goaltending by Dwayne Roloson led to a 5-4 win in Tampa. Adam Henrique and Zach Parise each had a goal and two assists while Kovalchuk had a goal as well. Johan Hedberg and the Defense weren't particularly strong but they were able to hold out for a 5-4 win although...

Devils Rally to Top Sens
Posted on 9 Dec 2011 by Jordan DiRisio.
The Devils rallied so did the senators but New Jersey escaped with two points. The first period was totally flat and the Devils finished it down 2-0 from goals by surprising leading goal scorer in the NHL, Milan Michalek, and Nick Foligno. This caused Deboer to start Hedberg in the second period; as always no idea if Brodeur was replaced because of poor play or just to try and generate a spark....

Devils Drop 4th Straight
Posted on 4 Dec 2011 by Jordan DiRisio.
The Devils lost a frustrating game again last night after playing a solid enough game to secure a win. The Jets went up just a minute into the game on a beautiful deflection by Evander Kane off of a Dustin Byfuglien shot. The Devils didn't do their usual thing of letting up another two or three. Instead they responded and played a very solid first getting one themselves by Adam Henrique on a gr...

Devils Build in Loss
Posted on 3 Dec 2011 by Jordan DiRisio.
The Devils took it to the Wild after the first ten minutes of last night's game. But that wasn't enough. When Zach Parise scored on a beautiful deflection just three minutes into the game it seemed like last night would be a great night. Five minutes later down 3-1 it seemed like it would be a disastrous game. Both initial reactions were wrong. Brodeur was chased from the game allowing three go...

ZACH PARISE AND STARS A PERFECT FIT
Posted on 15 Oct 2011 by Travis Currie.
Okay so maybe this is a little pre-mature but let's add everything up. The Stars are suffering at the gates and have been for a few seasons now. The 6,000 last Monday night vs the Coyotes and the 7,000 vs the Blues were anomalies mostly due to the Texas Rangers current playoff run, but it still leads to the conclusion that interest in the team is dwindling. I know for a fact there are plenty of...

New Jersey Devils Summer Playbook
Posted on 29 Jun 2011 by Matt Pellicane.
The New Jersey Devils summer began just the way they had hoped it would. They were able to snag Swedish defenseman Adam Larsson with the fourth selection in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft. Many pundits believe he could be the steal of the draft, and he might also be ready to step into the Devils starting lineup this fall. Although Larsson is only 18-years-old, he has been playing for Skelleftea i...
