VIKINGS RELEASE SCHEDULE, BUT LOSE STADIUM
Posted on 17 Apr 2012 by Sean Eckhardt.
Fans all around the country look forward to the release of the NFL schedule. This year, Minnesota fans probably don't care very much. Sure, the NFL released the schedule for all 32 teams. Yes, there are specials on both ESPN and the NFL Network discussing the match-ups and potential dramas that could unfold during the 2012 season. But for Viking fans it's not about the 32 teams, it's ab...

VIKINGS RELEASE OF BERRIAN POINTS TO THEIR BIGGEST PROBLEM
Posted on 25 Oct 2011 by Sean Eckhardt.
Sometimes when you are writing articles, or just talking sports with others, you can sound like a broken record; “Childress should be fired for his handling of Randy Moss.” “What should concern Minnesota fans is the thought of Sidney Rice following Bevell and Jackson to Seattle.” “Bernard Berrian is not a #1 receiver.” I have said or written ...

Vikings Lock Up Adrian Peterson; Next Order of Business is a New Stadium
Posted on 10 Sep 2011 by Sean Eckhardt.
The Minnesota Vikings have just made Adrian Peterson the highest paid running back in NFL history. The two sides came to terms on a 7-year extension that will pay Peterson $36 million in guaranteed money. If the man known as “All-Day” plays the entire contract out, including bonuses, he will be looking at a cool $100 million. Without bonuses, he will make a paltry $96 million....

Vikes / Favre Ought Take a Mulligan
Posted on 1 Apr 2011 by Steven Keys.
Mul-li-gan: a free shot sometimes given a golfer in informal play when the previous shot was poorly hit (Merriam-Webster). I don’t golf. I may be the only man in America not living under a bridge who doesn’t hit the links come springtime. But I know the golf term, mulligan. When a tee-shot is so bad, so uncharacteristic it’d be hasty and foolish to play it through. So you give you...

ROOF OR NO ROOF? THAT IS THE QUESTION.
Posted on 26 Jan 2011 by Sean Eckhardt.
The Minnesota Vikings need a new stadium. This is not any kind of breaking news, but the past several weeks have certainly added some new dynamics to the discussion. The Vikings had to move two home games at the end of the season when the roof on Mall of America Field(a.k.a. the Metrodome) collapsed due to heavy snow. The first game was moved to Ford Field in Detroit, a cutti...

2010 A VIKING ODYSSEY; CLOSING THE BOOK
Posted on 16 Jan 2011 by Sean Eckhardt.
The good news for Minnesota Viking fans is that the Vikes had a first round bye in the playoffs last weekend. The bad news is that Minnesota has a second, third, and fourth round bye too. Not making the playoffs was not in the forecast for the Vikings this year, but it certainly was the reality. There are plenty of reasons the Vikings had such a difficult year and during the seco...

Who’s Got Big Ben’s Back?
Posted on 24 Nov 2010 by Steven Keys.
Come seasons end, Ben Roethlisberger should have a sit-down with his agent and (contract permitting) consider other opportunities around the League where his skills & grit would be better appreciated. Last Sunday when Oakland Raiders’ DE Richard Seymour sent the Steelers' QB tumbling to the turf with a sucker-punch Ben’s teammates had little reaction. Even though Seymour has yet to make...

NFL Week 10, The Midseason: Some Like It Hot
Posted on 11 Nov 2010 by Al Buzzelli.
Fantasy football, like the midseason period for NFL organizations can be a stressful time to make difficult choices. Whether to pickup Minnesota’s Sidney Rice, Tennessee’s Nate Washington or even Arizona’s LaRod Stevens-Howling can be equally as contemplative for NFL owners and coaches as they have to deal with their own dilemmas. Dallas’ Jerry Jones didn’t seem to have that tough a t...

VIKINGS TO FIRE BRAD CHILDRESS
Posted on 2 Nov 2010 by Sean Eckhardt.
Zygi Wilf has finally seen enough. It is absolute chaos in Minnesota. On Sunday, the Vikings missed one opportunity after another. Then on Monday reports came out that the team was putting Randy Moss on waivers, despite the fact that Brad Childress had made this decision without consulting with management or ownership. Now, news is leaking that Childress too will be seeking emp...
